Blow them up??

I'm curious what everyone thinks of the following moves:

Trade Hinrich for Andre Miller

Trade Deng, Noah, and Michael Ruffin for Gerald Wallace

If possible trade Hughes to the Clippers for Kaman and Brian Skinner.

Here's what I am thinking... With Rose here Hinrich is a luxury so trading him to a team like Philly that needs a legit PG may be doable. Plus Miller's contract ends after this season so we would have cap relief from the deal and Philly would have a legit PG to stick with.

Gerald Wallace is clearly unhappy in Charlotte and possibly could be had right now. I would think Jordan would like someone like Deng and may be willing to make the swap. I just don't think Deng will work along side Rose and don't think he'll ever be the star a lot of people thought he would be. You have to include Noah and Ruffin to make the deal work under the cap and getting rid of Noah wouldn't exactly hurt the chemistry of the team. Wallace is a much better defender than Deng will ever be.

CLEARLY we need more inside presence and trading for someone like Kaman would help out in that area. The Clips may go for it as it would give them quicker cap relief as Kaman is locked up for 4 yearsBoth Utah and the Clips have a lot of extra inside players and perhaps we could snag one of them and Kaman makes the most cap sense.

This would give us the following starting lineup:

Rose, Gordon, G. Wallace, Gooden/Thomas, Kaman

with Miller, Skinner, Gooden/Thomas, Hunter, Gray, Nocioni, Sefolosha the bench

Also, we would have Miller, Gooden, and Gordon coming off the books at the end of the year. That's roughly 23.5 million in salary.

Thoughts?

I think you think the Clips are dumber than they already are.

and I’d look forward to questions about Gerald Wallace’s ‘dog’ when he has his injuries.

Yeah in NBA Live 09

Our team is AWESOME (given that we do have a lot of talents, but as a team we’re awful).
Anyway I traded Gordon for Kevin Durant straight up

Then packaged Durant I think for Chandler straight up

Then sent Gooden and Noah to the Lakers for Gasol

Then traded Gasol and Durant to the Spurs for Tim Duncan

Then traded Chandler and I think I signed Dooling for Chris Bosh and crap….

Video game trades are fun. Super Bulls: Rose-Hinrich-Deng-Bosh-Duncan starting 5….

Separate Trades

I hate that they removed the trade restrictions thing. I liked to make my super bulls, keeping one of our players (Rose) and keeping Chandler (cuz he was a fave of the old regime)….but try as I might, I can’t get D. Wade…..

I think I might have to be the Heat on there. Rose isn’t on the roster (you have to sign him, so he’s “Free”, which is nice.

NBA Live is a bit ridiculously out of date. For instance Hughes is an 84 (Really really good) and guys like Alando Tucker are ridiculous and even better/near superstar level which makes absoultely no sense….

Plus I do have HInrich and they’ll say something in the 2009 game that says “Scott SKiles must love having HInrich as a player leading his team”….

But the new Wii game is still fun….much better thant he past one’s because the controls are good. I just bought it though….

In real life I probably wouldn’t trade Durant for Duncan and Chandler and I’d develop Durant given Duncan’s age, unless say I was able to keep Deng-Gordon-Rose and Duncan….but in the video game world it’s a no brainer to trade Durant.

i still don't understand...

if you traded him to one team, how could you use him in a trade to another?

Been a while since I took geometry....

But thanks. Bet you love Hawaii given that Chicago’s weather right now is awful, 1.5 hour commutes each way for the last 2 days….to go 11 miles….

I think I traded him to one team

Traded him back and traded him again. Sorry.

That's the nice thing about sports video game escapism

You can alter your favorite team to fit the way you want it in reality. That’s one of the benefits of being a fan of Chicago teams, there is always so much work to do w/ the roster.

Exactly

I like watching my Super Bulls more than the real one’s.

I would have D. Wade, but NBA LIVE 09 does not allow the no trade restrictions. I think I offered Bosh-Duncan and Deng to the Heat (who are maxed out) for Wade-Blount-Dorel Wright and they said they aren’t interested…..

And that’s ridiculous….even for D. Wade…

by majoyenrac on Jan 13, 2009 4:55 PM CST up reply actions

Plus Hinrich

Is strangely awesome in NBA Live 09, is both a better offensive and defensive player than Gordon, which hasn’ tbeen the case since oh Jan of Gordon’s rookie year…

by majoyenrac on Jan 13, 2009 4:56 PM CST up reply actions

Tis True

In 2k9 i was playing against the team that has gordon (toronto, he plays with bosh…go figure) and i found something hilarious. Gordon could be in hinrichs face, and i could still hit the jumper. But as soon as gordon would start to dribble i would poke at the ball and trap him and cause him to turnover, or just alter his jumpshot to make him miss. It was good defense vs great shooting ability (and the great shooting ability lost) and poor defense vs average shooting ability (and the average shooting ability won)….just goes to show you what defense could do.

Also a week ago i played memphis which has larry hughes on it, and i had hinrich reject larrys craptastic jumper…..good times!

It's so sad

That the video game super Bulls every year come this time seem to be more fun that the real Bulls. I mean even int he 49 win year we hit a godawful slump and were looking really rough at this point before winning what was it like 8 in a row, I think the same thing happened the year before that when we squeaked in with 41 wins.
The lone exception was the Gordon rookie year where Ben willed us into the playoffs with his shockingly efficient 4th quarter mastery….

by majoyenrac on Jan 14, 2009 2:22 PM CST up reply actions

I admit

the Kaman trade is probably the biggest stretch of the three and I was assuming the Clips to not be of the brightest nature, but perhaps it could be expanded to work.
How is GW’s injuries any different than Deng’s?

All of the trades work under the cap, so it’s not impossible.

by thehat34 on Jan 13, 2009 3:55 PM CST reply actions

Yes you have the title right "Blow them Up"

Everyone on this team should be available expect Rose. All options should be explored.

Those who want Noc and Deng as untouchable…….. are nuts.

This team needs new faces.

Who says Deng is untouchable?

Hard to trade? Still has most value of anyone on the team other than Rose? Probably worth waiting it out compared to what you get? Sure. Who are these nutso’s you talk about?

Because technically, not even Rose is untouchable.

I’d trade him for James or Howard right now.

I think Andre Miller may be better than Hinrich

they are at least equals. Coming in to any

And if we traded Deng and Noah for Wallace I thnk my head would explode. Really, what has Wallace done in his career?

In short, none of your trades actually improve the team except the one the opposing team (the Clippers) definately would not do.

by Basketball Smurf on Jan 13, 2009 4:37 PM CST reply actions

Miller's better than Hinrich and has an expiring deal, that would be a great swap even if Miller would be wasted on this team

great deal for who?

he would be wasted on Chicago and it would be a downgrade (according to you) for Philly, a team that is already struggling. I guess they can see value of Hinrich with him having a long term deal. I don’t know how Philly fans would see it though.

by Basketball Smurf on Jan 13, 2009 5:01 PM CST up reply actions

Great deal for the Bulls especially as it clears Hinrich's contract even if they don't get anything out of Miller

Even better, it’d be more space under the tax threshold to resign Gordon this summer. For the Sixers, it gives them a long term answer at PG who may fit in even better w/ their roster than Miller does. Miller’s been at his career best since going to Philly, but he’s going to be 33 in March and PG’s his age who can’t shoot normally decline rapidly. I’m not sure if Stefanski is looking to move Miller or just play out the season and let him go, but I do see valid reasons for both teams to make this deal.
