Well
when you get older you lose things. In Hinrich’s case I think he lost that confidence in himself maybe some speed but I think he can change his game to become a solid role player. A smarter player. He needs to become more consistent with his shooting and 3 point shot because the days of beating people one on one might be winding down for him pretty soon.
I have been really down on Hinrich since the playoff series against the Pistons. He did have one decent game but his play had dropped off and he never got back to the level his first few years. He shrank in big games was my gripe much like Deng does.
Another issue is the money he’s getting paid.
It will be interesting to see what happens when he gets back. He will be rusty I’m sure. But you wonder what his role will be if they wanna try to bring back BG.
The main thing you have to ask is can you win a title with Hinrich at the 2? I say no and for that much money you have to look to deal him.

Just a couple of remarks
Agreed when you get older you lose some things…however its usually just physical stuff. mentall players get tougher and smarter and more familiar with where their game is. So confidence is a problem that hinrich has had recently, and it will eventually go away. Hinrich also is near his prime, so i dont think he’s lost his speed due to an aging body. I think he tried his hardest to gain muscle so he wasnt bullied around anymore and thats where the loss of speed and quickness came in.
In pistons series hinirch actually started playing better than gordon earlier. The whole thing about that series was that the bulls were waiting for ben gordon to step up his game since he was a big part of the offense. Hinrich displayed his best pg work possibly in that series. It was like the opposite of the wizards series.
The money he is getting paid i think is still fair. It decreases every year, and its only at 9.5 mil at the moment, and he was paid starter money. Dengs contract is worth more, and when bg gets his he will make more money than kirk also, (even bg had accepted the “lo-ball” offers from last season and the season before that one.
I think hinrichs role will be the first guard off the bench. Thats where i think he fits in. To give d. rose some rest, to do the things bg just cannot.
Agreed, hinrich can not be a starting 2 on this team, and indeed, you must ask yourself if we can win a championship with a certain player at a specific position. Likewise i often ask myself , can we win a title with bg at the 2". For all his offensive abilities id have to say no. However i believe bg can turn his game around to be more effective, and i think hinrich can become a more consistant version of what he was in the 05-06 season (the year they played miami, hinrich was probably the best balance between pg and sg, while praised for his defense. Its also when he was offered to play in the olympics.)

I wonder if Wjb
will come back here when Kirk starts playing again?

He was playing well in
the game he got hurt in. I think it will take a few games for him to get into the flow when he comes back. That is to be expected though.

He's a Kirk fan too.
And he hates Hughes more than I do.

I think Larry's mom is starting to hate his game.

The guy just
kills any flow they try to get going. I hate to thinkw what will happen if they can’t trade him. Even the guys on CTL and Sports NIte make crap of him.

Hinrich could help the team simply by not being Larry "Selfish" Hughes.

Kirk has
never been a selfish player on this team. Sometimes he’s too unselfish.

My point.
Heck, I would rather see Hunter and Rose than Larry and Rose.

Kirk reminds me of 'a poor shooting' Mark Price.

More athletic than Price, and a better defender.

Though Kirk isn't nearly the shooter,
and Price was great because he was a shooter. So…yeah. I lose.

Have you seen this?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sWo_w7RglQ
you probably have (i posted this like 3 times on blogabull, like once every year) Its pretty much all jumpshots, but i must concede that i think this was a very special game. It was the first bulls game i watched after the dynasty, which is partly why im so high on hinrich. I think after this performance (the entire wizards series hinrich was killin) the bull organization became high on hinrich which might be why they favor him so well. My friend saw this and was surprised how hinrich had no hesitation in any of these plays, and questioned why now he seemed to always hesitate, not taking wide open shots at times.
Anyway i figure at his best offensively this is what hinrich can be….whether or not he will actually become this is another question entirely.

Dangerous to base your opinion off one game.
If your first watched Bulls game had been against Cleveland in the spring of 1990, would you have expected MJ to drop 60-75 points on opponents on a regular basis?

i didnt mean it that way
if you finally watch a basketball game in like 5 years, and you see a guy score alot but looks like an average guy….you get intrigued…you watch the next game and you find he plays in a very basic style but succeeds. i got intrigued by kirk in that playoff series. the next year i became a fan
