Numbers Tell It All!!!

Below is the Box score from the Wizards game. While numbers don't always tell the whole truth, I found Hughes' numbers rather interesting.

http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=290109004

A look at Hughes numbers at first glance, doesn't really say that much, but when compared to everybody else's number they speak loudly of Hughes as a player. Of the Bulls player to get playing time, only two players had negatve +/- numbers. Noah was a -1, not bad but not great, and Hughes was a -5. Negative 5, really? Another look at the numbers reveals that the Bulls had 29 assists during the Wizards game, thier highest in awhile I believe. Then you notice that everyone BUT Hughes had an assist. Really Hughes, 21 minutes and not a single assist. Even the perpetual black holes that are Gooden and Noc managed to get two asists a piece.

Of course it's not news that Hughes sucks and is selfish, but I just thought that I would reafirm this point after the media tried to make him look good.

Sigh

yes, let’s just refer to the numbers and ignore what we saw in the game last night, specifically in the 4th quarter. I’m done.

I hoped Hughes was being showcased last night.

He got hot during essentially garbage time. Maybe Washington will bite and take him back.

music to my ears

Suit up the MJ Statue! It should be able to give us the interior defense we've been lacking! Get on it Pax!

I know, I loved it. I had no idea the UC crowd was so knowledgable.

Did you also hear the crowd boo Noah though? It wasn’t when he checked in, it was after a bad play. I was surprised about that one.

I was waiting for a Nocioni flop/bitchfest to see if we were gonna go 3 for 3, but for the 2nd night in a row he didn’t flop or complain. (Progress?)

But then the crowd lost all respectability with the asinine booing as time ran out and we were 2 pts short of a big mac. Idiots.

Progress?

It’s the hair cut.
Noc is like Samson, all his anger comes from his long hair.

I hear a lot of people say that Hughes has a lot of skill and ability,

but does he really. Sure, he has a big body and he’s a 2 guard, but he’s very weak, not too fast or quick and has a below-average jump shot. All he has is decent height, and even when he does drive he manages to either miss his layups or gets the Spalding logo tattooed onto his face.

I don't mind if he has 0 or 4 assits if he would let the ball flow in the offense that'd be much better

And his shot selection and just over all decision making is bad. But yeah I think he looked for a couple of guys in there.

exactly..

the numbers aren’t the issue (although they dont help his cause) him and noc kill the ball movement and try to turn it into a 1 on 1 game, or just chuck a contested 3. Gordon does it to some extent but at least he is more effective than hughes who doesnt have the talent to get away with it. Hughes may not get the assist but if he makes better decisions and makes the right pass (or any pass) then he would move up considerably in my book

gordon does it a lot...

but he hits the shot often enough that i just shake my head and go…well at least he made the shot.
