Bullying Around The Net (Updated)

The upcoming NBA season is near and not only does it come with games, but more stories as well. The gloomy days of Summer are gone. Training camp is near.  Days of constantly searching the web for some decent Bulls news are gone as well.

Here are just a few stories that have caught my eye over the last couple of days

K.C. Johnson has finally climbed out of his dark cave

Mike McGraw writes about Gordon and the qualifying offer stuff

McGraw also writes of the recent invites to camp

Marty Burns writes on the obvious glut of guards

Mike Khan on the Bulls changes

New . . .

Brian Hanley on the qualifying offer deadline and other Ben Gordon stuff

McGraw on Del Negro

Ah yes - training camp season begins!

Somehow Matt was able to stretch the Gordon contract issue into a summer’s worth of entertainment. Now for the real show. Gordon should sign something in a few days. A myriad of questions will begin to be answered.

1- How will Rose develop and contribute this year?
2- Will TT turn into a factor?
3- How much will Noah develop and contribute this year?
4- Will Rose create such problems for other teams that other Bulls flourish?
5- As the season goes along will we trade a guard for that enigmatic inside presence?
6- Will we make the playoffs?
7- Hinrich, Thabo, Hughes?
8- What happens to Aron Gray?

Let the fun begin!

I'm actually really curious for #8

Although it should be titled, “What happened to Gray?”

How did he lose 30 pounds!?

I wanna extensive report on that alone

Which article said he lost 30lbs?

I missed that, but that was my biggest hope for him last year. If he got down to 250 or so, I don’t see why he couldn’t do much of what Brad Miller or someone like that could do.

That’s pretty encouraging

Man what a mess

This team was until last season the scrapiest team out there and i just cant understand how you go from that to the shamble that was last year. The nba has become such a money sided game. i agree to an large extent on the overpaying of all the mediocre players that we have. Kobe, kg, and alot more even if are really overpayed cause no human being should be payed this amount of money (mj included) but atleast you know with them on a team they are going to give you all every time.

deng who is my third favorite on this team is so overpayed. hinrich is not i think he just had a bad season and i do think he is a good gaurd and that him having to play out of his position and also make up for bens defense is taking a toll on him and his stats. he is not a shooting gaurd but anyway. this season is something that can really be good if somehow they can get rid of hughes. if they cant get rid of his contract i really think they should just tim thomas him and let him go home. he is not going to help this team.

if they could somehow change this situaition around i really think we can contend.

the quesion that is a tough one is what do we do with all of our players

if tyrus can get the minutes he needs i think he can be really effective as a power forward but then what happens with gooden our only good trade bait.

with deng being our starting small forward and noc coming off the bench to back him and tyrus up what happens to sefolosha.

guys i really think that paxson has done a good job in changing the laughabulls to a team that can contend. the two mistakes that he made were not giving up curry or crawford or etc. it was getting rid of tyson for wallace. let me explain. first of all tyson had his faults that for some reason are not showing now with the hornets but at the same time maybe that is the teams fault by not using him the way the hornets are. but the most crazy thing that we did was bring wallace over and because wallace was such a bad influence to this team it led to alot of crap. now the after effects of wallace are gooden(who i think is pretty decent) and hughes which are the two reasons our young players are not able to develop..

the bulls should cut their losses with hughes and let him go or get trade him for one useless player who is injured and will not take up any of the minutes for our gaurds.

the future is looking good but the next two years are going to be tough on all of us
 but when you thinnk of

rose
hinrich/sefolosha
deng/noc
tt/noc
noah/gray
its not that bad and in fact one more piece around al of these players and you have yourself a nba champ. lets see. i already have my store of antacids for this season so lets get the bulls going

Mike Khan

….just say it… this team is a mess, Paxsdorf in all.

Tyrus Thomas legacy …

“Nobody is quite sure what to make out of Tyrus Thomas other than he is incredibly athletic, able to pick dimes off the backboard, and has an uncanny knack of rubbing people the wrong way whenever he opens his mouth.”

United Center - I called 911 during the summer of 2006, the situation hasn't improved, now inactivity during the summer of 2008 will require the national guard.

Excuses

Aren’t these people paid enough they can just have selective hearing? They should be able to find a way of using TT to his potential. He wouldn’t be the first NBA player with rough edges. They have not used him properly since he showed up. Look how inept management screwed up normally good players on our team last year. That’s that kind of stupid TT has had directed at him from day one.

I'd forgotten

VDN played for Skiles, and I’m here in PHX. I can just imagine what he might’ve said to Pax in that interview. No wonder he got the job!

It's All About the Sacagaweas.

Vinny The Black was hired by the Bulls, because Reinsdorf didn’t want to shell out for a Mike D’Antoni or Avery Johnson, two men with coaching experience, which is something you needed if you wanted to be an NBA head coach. At least, you have a decent head coach in Terry Porter, who was an assistant coach with Sacramento before his Milwaukee tenure.

What they did isn't hard to figure out.

Vinny is there to be the mouth piece and the assistant coaches they hired are the brains. Later on Vinny might also be the brains, but until his ability to do that is determined I am fine with having a coach that can actually talk to the players and assistant coaches who either one could have been offered coaching jobs this year themselves handling the rest. I wouldn’t have minded D’Antoni, but that isn’t the way we went. And the way we went isn’t quite the bleak picture you painted. At least we are not getting a recycled retread.
