Bulls invite three to training camp
[From the FanShots. Roger Powell! -ed.]
I've only heard good things about Elton Brown, so maybe he's got a shot at making the 15 man roster.
Roger Powell and Darius Washington are probably just warm bodies.

as long as
we don’t trade him for a clone of Chandler, then trade him for a clone of P.J. Brown, and sign a clone of an old Ben Wallace.
B.J. for three.... KABOOM!

Darius Washington...
might be a good filler for that last roster spot. I don’t know what the roster looks like now (other than guard glut), but from what I’ve read he’s come a long way from being a cocky kid to just being humbled to be on an NBA roster. Plus I think that’s a good deal of talent to have on the end of the bench.

Elton Brown is someone worth watching. Nuggets fans seemed very happy with his summer league work and wanted him on their roster for next year. Think he had good D-League numbers too.

I have been watching (not literally, though!)
and am pulling for him. Been tearing up DLeague for forever and fans of most Western teams have been wanting their FOs to make an addition with (of) him. Even if the inside game doesn’t transfer to the pros, I would expect him to be a “hungry rebounder”, at least. But Bulls need the scoring, which would be, like, a miracle.
Team has too many guards to keep Washington, don’t they?

While everyone would love to see
an Amare wreaking havoc in the paint (tho’ he doesn’t have the post moves people think he has), isn’t the answer just the ability to get inside sometimes, so it’s an option? That’s one reason I’ve never understood the Gray hate here.
With increased penetration from Rose, and if some other players can show a little more inside game, maybe it won’t be so easy for teams to focus on the Bulls’ perimeter.
Since no one picked Brown from the DLeague, I wouldn’t expect much. On the other hand, I still have hope Pax and Co. are up on the other teams with this one.

I agree on Brown
He’s probably not going to be anything like Amare, or boozer (the closer analogy for a 270lb 6’9 guy), but he may be able to be an Aaron Gray like player (meaning good enough to play and stay in the league). And he should give us some low post defense, which was my biggest fear for the season

Yep. It always comes down to defense
whether or not guys make it in the NBA. (Except for the high draft pick, scoring superstars.) If he makes the roster, it’ll be ’cause he can board some and play some D. And score us some points.
