He wasn't an assistant coach

He was director of player personnel, then assistant GM for the Suns.

Interesting how he "predicts" the 8th seed "at best".

It’s not really a prediction so much as a best case scenario. Unless he’s predicting that the Bulls will play to the best level in their abilities.
