2009 allstars?

Ever since the Jordan era ended ive been hoping for an all star from the bulls. It hasent happened yet. a couple of times i thought surley we'd have an AS, (for example deng in 2007) but i was wrong. So my questions  are do you think will we have an allstar? If so who? What other players from other teams will be allstars?

And will noah make the rookie sophmore game?

thanks alot

The Circus Trip

really hurts our guys chances at the ASG every year, because we suck out of the gate and our guys don’t get recognized until later in the year, after the ASG when they begin to turn it around and play out of their minds (well, aside from last year). Also hurting the chances for our guys to make an ASG is that our two best players (Deng and Gordon) play positions that have a lot of glory guys that are either – better or have more fan recognition. I doubt either of them makes the ASG. I expect Rose to be on the Rookie team in the Rookie Sophomore game and for him to play well. Noah should be on the Sophomore team and it was a travesty that he wasn’t included on the Rookie team this year, but it was primarily a function of him not getting minutes behind the Corpse. After the BW trade, Noah got minutes and he shined.

deng got the shaft

in 07. but i think he will be an all star some day. most of the guys at his position (other than lebron – pierce is already past 30, butler is 28, etc…) are several years older so they will decline or be out of the league when he’s in his prime. as long as there’s not another freak like lebron hopefully we can pencil deng in in a few years. (or sooner if he really breaks out!) :) but not for 09.

yeah I think when guys like PP and Butler start to decline

Deng will slide in. I think he’s already a top 10 SF in the league, and probably in the top 5 in the East, but that doesn’t land you on the All-Star team. I also don’t anticipate Butler declining for a while, Lebron is always going to be there, and Pierce has a few more good years left. RJeff is still hanging around (he’s hasn’t been All-Star level lately, but if he plays defense this year with Skiles at the helm and the Bucks surprise people, he could go to the ASG). Also, Deng has to worry about Iguodola if he remains as a SF, because he’s got more of what fans vote for in All-Star players (flashy dunks, lots of scoring, sheer athleticism, etc.). Luckily for we Bulls fans, there just aren’t very many good PGs in the East. Jason Kidd and Billups went to the ASG as the only real PGs for the East and they are both old, and Kidd is out West this year and might be in Europe in 2010. I could see Derrick Rose easily becoming an All-Star in his second year. Billups will be on the decline, Calderon will be competition but he plays in Toronto and is less likely to get the recognition from fans (he played at an all-star level last year, but no one noticed), TJ Ford might be competition, but his team is likely to be garbage, thus hurting his chances. The only other young PGs to compete with Rose as he comes up in the East are Devin Harris and Rajon Rondo (who is legit, but until he can hit the jump shot even as consistently as Rose I don’t buy him as an All-Star).

right

and no i’m not anticipating butler (who i really like) to decline anytime soon, but he’s got 5 years on deng – heh i’m always still surprised at how young deng really is.

but yes rose could certainly rise up pretty quickly, it depends on how sharp his learning curve ends up being.

If

his time at memphis is any indication he will start to come into his own around the very end of this season. I remeber reading he gave a lot of respect to the memphis vets upon arrival as to not ruffle any feathers. I feel once he gets comforatable with our vets he will start to shine.

We can have an allstsar this year

we just need to go out there and finally have the balls to pull off a blockbuster trade and bring one to us

Definitely NO

Derrick rose may be the only guy with any potential, but he is at least 2 years away from being even considered to go to an allstar game, Noah could be solid at best
