Bulls Announce 08-09 Schedule
[From the FanShots. That's correct: opening night the Bulls will be hosting Skiles, and his assistant: whatshisname. -ed.]
"The Chicago Bulls will tip off their 43rd season on Tuesday, October 28, when they host the Milwaukee Bucks in their season opener at 7:30 p.m. at the United Center.
Three days later, Chicago will take to the road for the first time when they travel to Boston and face the NBA Champion Celtics at 7:00 p.m.
For just the second time in team history and the first since 1997.98, the 2008.09 campaign opens with Chicago playing seven of its first 10 games at home."

David Stern sure does love to create story-lines for his season openers
even among the middling teams in the league.

hilarious!
that definitely was not a coincidence

2 seven game road trips in the first half of the year.
That could be pretty brutal for a young team.
by CrashDavis on Aug 6, 2008 11:22 AM CDT reply actions 0 recs
yeah, we consistently get the shaft in scheduling to start the year. it's no wonder we consistently
struggle out of the gates.

We're always guaranteed
one long road trip early. (Stupid circus!)

yeah
but another 7 game road trip before mid-February? Really? That’s necessary? Also, when will the circus go away. Bulls >>> Creepy Clowns and Sad Animals.

They best bet is to suck it up, I think it’s good for Rose to experience that. We can finally see what he’s made of in the pros.

well...after last years crappy preformence...
i guess we don´t deserve the ESPN love.

yeah
that really blows for those of us that will be watching from afar. I really need to get league pass.

Last year was the first time I splurged for it
And it was well worth it – even as crappy as the team played last year.
If nothing else, taking Rose will at least piss off Pat Riley.

I'll be in my first year of law school starting in like a little under two weeks
so perhaps not having the Bulls to distract me from my work will be good for me, but as a fan, yeah.. it’s going to be really tough.

Have fun in law school
That first year can be brutal, so you’re probably right! I don’t remember doing a whole lot other than working my butt off in the library that first semester – but then it settles down a lot. Where are you going?
If nothing else, taking Rose will at least piss off Pat Riley.

I'm going to William and Mary, so even the local games will be Wiz games
which is not so bad. The Wiz are entertaining, and I was initially worried I was going to be in Bobcat territory, yech. But yeah, I don’t anticipate being able to catch much of the NBA. Luckily some of our national games are around Christmas, so I’ll be on break, etc.

League Pass
There are some sites that offer links to most every game, every night. Some of the links require a P2P client in order to stream the games, however, quite often mms links have been posted, that simply stream in WMP.
I wasn’t sure if the moderators in here would allow the links to be posted here, so I haven’t included them. This clever bunch can Goggle their way to this stuff, I’m sure.
Last, I heard League Pass will change their affiliation this season, moving to TNT, but can’t verify this, and more importantly, if this would mean easier or more difficult to find streaming links.
I saw EVERY Bulls game, living abroad, in Europe, this past season, even the nationally televised ones which are NOT on League Pass, but because someone streamed the broadcast via a P2P program link, I was even able to see these games. Tough staying awake some nights for this! Time difference.
Some streams are better than others, but the hacked LP mms links are killer, Approx., 600kb/s, so if you push the stream to your TV and run WMP full screen on the TV, it is like having CABLE transmission of games.
P.S. In fact, some nights, I had to endure the opponents announcing teams, some nights it was, very insightful hearing the other teams’ announcers giving props to the Bulls guys we complain about or conversely, dissin’ our “best” guys. One eye-opener was the perceived value of Ben Gordon. Thetylove the guy all over the league! Didn’t seem to translate to any real OFFERS for the guy though. Announcers don’t sign the contracts…..
BTW: The worst ever, by far, the HOMER OF ALL HOMERS, on any televised NBA game, has to be, Tommy Heinsohn, on the Boston games. Boston never committed a foul and refs miss many fouls committed against Boston. That is Heinsohn. He is MADDENING and MUST BE STOPPED! :-)

You have to help me
I live in Europe too, and I had some problems to see all games last season. I searched a lot, but I didn’t found the correct stream. If Matt doesn’t mind, would you like to share with us where did you found streams for EVERY game? I’m sick of listening to ESPN 1000 and see the live score on ESPN…

Google Calendar
FYI, I have updated my Google calendar with the schedule:
http://www.itoph.com/html/chicago_bulls.html
A couple of oddities I noticed on the Bulls posting:
http://www.nba.com/bulls/schedule/
On March 18th it says the Bulls are @ Seattle. Even though on January 10th they correctly have Oklahoma City visiting Chicago.
Also, on February 27th it says the Bulls are playing the Wizards in Atlanta, and on April 15th the Bulls are playing Toronto in Indianapolis. These can’t be right, right?

Thank God they have a lot of home games to start the season
Because they could seriously go 0-7 on the circus trip.
by Big D on Aug 6, 2008 2:21 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Yeah!
It would be devastating to a team that depends so much on a rookie. But since the Bulls have a lot of games at UC, maybe Rose could gain confidence for the remaining of the season…

Rose
I don’t think Rose will be a starter at the beginning of the season, so let’s hope thew Bulls don’t rely on a 19 year old rookie off the bench to carry them through the road trips.
by Stay Chisel on Aug 6, 2008 2:49 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
You don't think he'll start?
If Rose comes off the bench without getting a chance to prove himself…..I dunno I think I might spontaneously combust.

Are you serious?
Of course Rose has to start. To me, the question is who is going to start with him? Hinrich, Gordon, Sefolosha or someone that we might get from a trade… Rose may be young and inexperienced, but he will only learn if he plays a lot of minutes. He all know that we are not going to win a ring this year, so, once and for all, let the KIDS play…

Skiles, Jim Bullshit and Bulls killer Richard Jefferson.
Actually, I shouldn’t have called Richard Jefferson Bulls killer. I should have called them all Bulls killers.

Also, where can I see what games are on comcast, espn, TNT and WGN like it said on last yers schedule?

It is good to see the schedule.
Out of the first 17 games I see 4 games we should win, Mil, Mem, Atl, Ind; 2 games we will be underdogs but could pull an upset at Orl and Clev at home and 11 games we are likely to lose. I hope I am wrong but that would put us at 6-11 to open the season. I really hope I am way off here. Per posts above the opener at home against Milwaukee should be fun.
85 days until opening night.

Chicago's ESPN/TNT appearances this season
ESPN
Chicago at Boston October 31st
Chicago at Cleveland November 5th
Chicago at Portland November 19th
Chicago at Miami December 26th
TNT
Dallas at Chicago November 13th
Cleveland at Chicago January 15th
Miami at Chicago February 12th
Detroit at Chicago March 24th
Miami at Chicago March 26th
Philly at Chicago April 9th
Obviously, the schedulers are assuming the Bulls will be a good team this year, and that there will be a tight Central Division race. The Rose/Beasley matchup is going to be hyped up a ton this year because the media missed out on Oden vs Durant last year. The last 3 games on TNT should have major playoff implications if everything goes well for Chicago, should be some good games.
