Guess what he has in common with Derrick Rose? A little tendinitis in the right knee...

"No, no, no, I'm going to be fine," he said. "I feel great."

I love the guy, I just wish he cost half as much or was twice as good.

Nocioni's awesome

Yesterday’s game again was proof on why I love Andres. Sure he costs too much because we’ve made him a career backup, but the guy can play. His one legged block of Kobe Bryant, was amazing. The guy is probably the biggest competitor in the entire league.

I hope he didn’t do more damage yesterday…..if we redefine his role (which Boylan messed up last year) he’ll be back to a great addition off of our bench.

Boylan actually used Nocioni better than Skiles did

He played him at small forward more than power forward.

Gonna disagree there

At SF he’s just plain. I’ve always thought he matched up pretty well at PF.

Offensively he’s just another SF, and a slow one who has trouble getting by the more athletic ones (read, all of them). Defensively, again, he can’t guard many of them worth a damn because even though he’s physical he’s typically pushed further out on the perimeter or “tricked” (not hard to do) into getting laughably out of position.

Defensively he’s undersized but he seems to get out of position less against fours, perhaps because he’s playing closer to them. And there, he’s playing physical and being annoying, which is his strong suit, but he’s doing it against guys that can’t just blow by him usually.

Of course he’s undersized there, but aside from the big guys that really shoot over him, it seems less of an issue to me.

And offensively, since he plays further away from the basket (and can shoot from there) than your typical four, he opens things up a tad and keeps a rebounder further away from the basket.

I agree with you actually

Noc will never be a great answer at either position, but to me as a 4 he’s at least a weapon.

If anything, Boylan’s big goof was having Noc at the 4 with Drew Gooden at Center.

I shouldn't have said 'actually'

it implies I always nod when reading hscs, or shake my head at sports2. not true! :-p

or worse

luol at the 4 and gooden at center…

Boylan

Also seemed to pull him in and out of the lineup quite a bit more than Skiles. Skiles might have not played Noc on a given night, but one Skiles used Noc, Noc was in for the game. Boylan often would put Noc in for quick increments and pull him quickly….

But no bother, a real coach will help my boy Noc.

Did anyone see the bronze medal game and know if Noc played at all? God I hope he isn’t hurt again…

when we played him at PF, it’s simple, we sucked bad. Look at the statistics, and the fouls he drew starting at the 4.

Announcers were drooling over Noc the whole game

They talked about him as if he was Braveheart.

It was so fucking laughable

heres the

said block from above.

Rumor has it Rose wanted to buy BGs pad because it was for sale. BGs house is worth 4 mil but when Rose went to go make an offer of 3.9 Ben said he wanted 10.

Me and My...

Buddies always make the same subtle arguments about players on the Bulls…and Noc always seems to come up…..a lil from the typical convo……
We wouldn’t ever bring up Noc needing to be traded if he made 4mil…..
Larry Hughes would be the perfect veteran off the bench if he made 5 Mil……
Kirk would be the best guard off the bench at either position to the tune of about 30 minutes a game if he didn’t the organization didn’t pay him like he was gonna be the cornerstone of the franchise for the next 10 years…
I love Noc,and I hope we can keep him,but all the signs say that you can’t overpay everybody from 2004-2008..and then add a big contract that replaced another big contract…

Woohoo Go Noc!

Did you see how well he played last night. They would never pass him the ball or else he would have had more points. I would always see him ask for the ball. Remember his dunk? everyone went crazy last night
