I think you’ll find some of that money isn’t fully guaranteed.
And I’d pay Bogut more than Deng.

Maybe, but I doubt it
The Bucks were already over the cap till 2011, so it didn’t hurt them to give Bogut a couple million more per year to make sure he signed. With that said, the Bucks are trying really hard to be mediocre.

that seems like kind of a lot
14.5 per for bogut?
i was thinking around 72/6 (gordon/deng can go 6 right?) for a 12 mil average on deng. not sure about gordon.

More for Deng
Deng turned down 11.4 per. Bulls are going to have to go higher and 12 won’t be enough. Now that it’s going to be 6 years, Deng can ask for even more.
BG is still a huge ?

some other thread around here
said deng was looking for 12.5.
that and i’m not convinced about the 57.5 offer he supposedly got. not everything corroborates with this info.

Awesome
I love it when division rivals commit enormous sums of money to average players.

Dont matter
It doesnt matter because Bogut, regardless of how much he sucks, is a starting caliber center in a league that doesnt have too many of those. He is overpaid for that reason. As for our RFAs Deng is a non 3 point shooting small forward, which most teams dont want and cant use in their system, and BG is an undersized SG which most teams dont want either…

I'm not saying they overpaid
But even Isiah Thomas thinks that contract is a bit excessive.

Ever since I heard the name BOW-GUT (when he was drafted), I always thought the
name was perfect for a Frankenstein-type monster: “BOGUT MAD! BOGUT MAD!”
...
That’s a crazy amount of money for Bogut… unless he sells a lot of Bucks shirts down in Australia…taking away market share from Luc Longley.
