Around SBN: Will Rhymes 'Fine' After Being Hit By Pitch And Fainting

Rookie forward Michael Beasley did not finish his first practice with the Miami Heat summer league team Wednesday after being struck in the chest by a teammate's elbow.

The Heat said Beasley, the No. 2 overall pick in last week's NBA draft, was being taken for evaluation and had no further details on the extent of the injury.

Beasley and the Heat are scheduled to begin play in the Orlando summer league on Monday.

Doesn't sound all that serious, but I suppose we'll have to wait

for a full medical evaluation.

Speaking on injured rookies, is Oden supposed to return at full strength this season? Will he particpate in summer league?

Oden won't be in summer league.

He’s supposed to enter training camp at full strength.

link for that info?

if that’s true, (and he’s 100% healthy) I can’t really agree with that notion. He needs to get all the time in that he can.

Well, except there's a good chunk of time between now and training camp,

so he may not be ready to go full speed 5 on 5 right now but is anticpated to be ready in a few months.

If nothing else, taking Rose will at least piss off Pat Riley.

He was practicing with the team last year as well

He seems good to go, I still bet Kevin Pritchard trades him for 10 future 1st round picks and Blazers fans congeal into a pile of GM-worshiping flubber.

When those blazer fans were in that one post

I really got this eerie feeling from them, like they are some kind of cult with the leader being pritchard. I can see them saying stuff like, “If KP told us to jump off a bridge, we’d do it cuz he is so wonderful” and it sort of reminds me of the movie Distrubing Behavior the blue ribbons group…i mean when the bulls were looking up we had the “In Pax we Trust” statement, but even then we didnt hesitate to make fun of him in some form or another, and there are some who say they saw paxson screwing it up the whole time….Blazer fans are scary they are so happy.

If Zach randolf ever does anything wrong in portland again, he should just say something like Kp told me to do that, or just point in an opposite direction and yell “hey its KP!!” im sure he would get away with murder.

On Behalf of Sue, Wjb, Bullshooter, and all the other Hinrich fans...Ill keep the Hinrich Hope coming...There will be light....

Blazer fans have always been fairly passionate about the team,

so with the resurgence from the miserable jailblazer days is it any wonder they are happy? And there’s no other team in town to distract them or divide loyalties – I know a lot of people who cheer for the Seahawks and Mariners – but with the Ms having such a crappy season there’s not much there.

Portlanders in general seem to be a fairly happy lot, if a little on the quirky side. It’s a great place to live. In contrast, it gets pretty testy around here. ;)

Portland is actually one of my favorite cities to visit

And I’ve always liked the Blazers. I know it’s dumb to get amped up over what people write on blogs, but man to see a group of people just flat out worship their GM like he’s Nastradamus?

::Conveniently ignores the thousand “In Pax we Trust” comments from last summer::

their happiness angers me

and I want to see their team fail.

Then I’m happy!
