Around SBN: Blogger Q&A - And The Valley Shook

I know its hoopsworld, so take it or leave it - but still thought it was interesting enough to post:

"The Chicago Bulls would ideally love to keep Luol Deng, but with negotiations going the way they're going it's likely the Pistons get serious in talks with Chicago. Tayshaun Prince would come back in trade and he's a veteran who could make life easier for new head coach Vinny Del Negro. Prince isn't exactly a vocal leader, but he knows how to win and he's all business."

Ew

I think Luol is better for this team than Tayshaun. If we can get another piece (Amir Johnson?) I’d do it, but straight up that’s a bad idea, especially to our division rival.

seriously

i love tayshaun, the guy is a all-around baller but not for Deng and the potential he has. prince is on the back-end of his ‘prime,’ Deng’s ‘prime’ has barely begun. But i’m not really worried, Deng will still be a Bull for the next couple of seasons, as for Ben G i dunno. I wish we could have em both. In my eyes the bottom line is Deng and Ben Gordon are more important to our team and the future rebuilding than Hinrich and Nocioni. If we got rid of both Noc and Kirk i think we’d have enough cash to keep em both happy and be in decent cap space. Right? But pax’s does love his ‘hustle and heart” players that he give’s awesome contracts to but doesn’t show the love to the “talented and potential-rich” players ie Deng and Gordon.

I Wouldnt

I wouldnt give up Deng for Prince and someone else good on their roster. NO WAY, I wouldnt mind getting Prince by giving up Gordon though with someone else. We can play Deng at the 2… I think it would work kinda well. Second unit when Noc is in, so will Tyrus so they can match up with the other team well. We still got Kirk, Thabo and that rookie whats his name…oh ya Rose, and as Paxson said, “And we also have Larry Hughes.”

That doesn't mean he's better than Deng, plus that's not necessarily true

In their regular season matchups this year, he only averaged 11 points a game, last season 14 points, the season before that 13. I’m not saying Deng and Prince were matched up 1-on-1 the entire time, but it’s not like Prince destroys the Bulls like other players have been prone to do. The only time Prince got the better of Deng in recent memory was during the playoffs when he posted him up a couple of times and took him to the hoop. Lu still averaged close to 20 points a game against Detroit in that series.

I was a multiple time all star throughout my little league career. Won 5 championships- 4 in a row- thats more in a row than MJ… (kenwo4life@aol.com)

No Thanks

plus Lou is 5 years younger like stated above.

i think we’ve all seen the best of Prince by now…unless he somehow turns into a 18 ppg guy out of the blue, i’ll stick w/ Lou.

Deng’s total inability to close games last year is distressing however. Lou needs to get a lot more agressive in the 4th Q.

interesting how deng's slightly higher in blocks per game

tayshaun’s are just more spectacular.

i think

we may see better in terms of closing out from deng this year, if we get normal rotations… boylan’s normal rotation would be to give him rest in the 1st half and none in the 2nd. plus his injuries didn’t help.

if we have some good rotations and deng isn’t playing for 24 minutes straight, i think he’ll be more productive at the end of games.

not saying that this is a total excuse for him, of course, but i think it will help.

Dunno

Prince is a stud. His numbers would automatically go up on an offensively challenged team like the Bulls. And he is a mentally tough player. I love Deng, but I wouldn’t hate this move.

John Paxson has been like family to me. I can no more disown him than I can disown my white grandmother, who also was unable to pull off any deals for superstar free agents or hire a top-notch coach.
