Around SBN: Raiders' GM Begins The Purge

Priorities: coach, trade, draft pick - in that order

1) Picking the right coach is the first priority to the Bulls. Skiles should have gone before that season even started. It was obvious that he didn't have the skill that the Bulls need and that is: mentoring young players. Hinrich, Gordon and Deng collapsed under he too much pressure and no development approach. Tyrus Thomas - who I still believe has great potential (he is only 21) - should be getting better. And now we have the #1 pick - So the FIRST thing to do is pick a Coach with teaching skills

2) Study trade scenarios. Getting rose means trading hinrinch. Getting Beasley means trading Gooden or TT or Noce or a combination of those. So, who can we get that will make the team better considering the pick to complete the team. Or trade the pick (that teams was a semi-finalist without Rose/Beasley - if the trade is good, trade the pick)

3) Draft. The Bulls will be better with either Rose or Beasley. I like Rose better, but we need a bigger view here...

pax is possessed..

agree..

young players need an experienced teacher.

a soft spoken guy.

a guy with gentle eyes.

hey
are we in the search for the next bachelor?

about the draft.

either way it depends upon the coach.
of how he’s gonna utilize the pick with the current roster the next season.

me too, i’d pick rose. just read my other comments on the other posts to get the reason why i picked rose.

Reversal

Riley would have to be the current GM of the Bulls and Paxson the current GM of the Heat!

Landing both

would only be interesting if we go for rebuilding again. We need a solid veteran… if only we could get Brand back…

by JustAnotherFan on Jun 5, 2008 4:23 PM CDT up reply actions

dat is as possible as......

A) gettin struck by lightning
B)Miami trading the pick for Keith Van Horne’s contract
C)Tracy McGrady playing a full season
D)Ben Wallace getting another defensive player of the yr award
E)Joakim goin sober
F)John Paxson wearin a Ben Wallace Fro Wig
i can do this all day…basically its highly unlikely that this trade happens lol

Coach: Avery Johnson or Doug Collins-Both would be good fits for the team we have right now.
Draft Pick: No brainer, D Rose
Trades: Kirk and after him it’s up in the air.

How bout van gundy?

Always repected him after I hated him in NY..just cuz its the knicks…still Phil gave us knick karma, maybe he could

You sure about Johnson?

I think the last thing we need is a drill sarge or a coach. Esp if Pax shoots himself by drafting Beasley. Imagine the math

Drill Sarge + Rebellious kid with “mentality issues” = Scott Skiles + Ben Wallace PART II

Order

1. Coach – not really sure who…nothing really jumps out
2. Draft – Beasley. he was considered the #1 all year for good reasons.
3. Trade – eventually we have to get rid of the logjam in the backcourt. I’d prefer Hughes get moved before anyone else, but I understand that won’t be easy. It would be nice to have a bigger 2 to start and then let BG come off of the bench, but that obviously brings about some complications.
