Rose to be introduced Mon @ 11am

The Chicago Bulls will hold a press conference at the United Center on Monday at 11 am to introduce top draft pick Derrick Rose. Comcast Sportsnet will cover it live. The Bulls will unveil Rose's jersey adorned with the number 1, not 25 as his high school coach Robert Smith suggested last week. You can already buy one online at Bulls.com... look for the only jersey that's not on sale.

Hopefully this press conference will bode better for Derrick than the last one he was supposed to attend. ;)

Nice edit...ha.

That blog entry is the most pathetic attempt

at being a meathead/hardass that I’ve ever seen.

what a loser.

(please dont kill me.) who goes and says “hey, i’m number one, i’ll pick #1 while i play for the boo’lz.” any number other than 1 would work. i just hate that number when Tmac’s not wearing it.

It's a number. Who cares which one it is.

uh, look at the handle you picked

Apparently we are not to judge based on these things, aye? Why is this any different than picking lucky number seven or something? Number one isn’t off limits. He couldn’t keep his college number and now he has a new number. Big deal.

Everything I post is speculation. I have no insider information nor ideas deemed concrete enough by those who are self-elected to regulate post content.

Looks like he wore #1 back in the day...

before high school, then on his AAU team Mean Street Express. So no, it’s not bc he was the #1 pick. Or for Rod Strickland.

by smash! on Jun 29, 2008 2:29 PM CDT up reply actions

I thought he should have picked 17

A good reminder to himself and the fans how lucky we all are that the Bulls won the lottery this year.

by paxson43 on Jun 29, 2008 7:30 AM CDT reply actions

Now that....

would be funny. Most of the stories I’ve heard have them picking a number because of someone else. Either the same as their idol, or half of their idol’s (brother’s) number or whatever. Picking it based on odds would be great.

by CubFan81 on Jun 29, 2008 8:18 AM CDT up reply actions

My idea is along the same lines as Arenas

... the story behind 17 would be perfect material for a marketing campaign when Rose leads the Bulls to a title down the road…

by paxson43 on Jun 29, 2008 9:17 AM CDT up reply actions

no...
17 belongs to “Stan”.

Step 1 - Win lottery. Step 2 - Hire a coach. Step 3 - Win.

but how about “The Promised One” for the one who is said to bring the bulls back to glory, or, “The One” which would befit his position, his number, his ranking on the team…etc…

What happens when you recommend a single reply?

I didn’t even realize you could do that until right now.

I’m so used to vbulletin formats, as opposed to this real-time blog type thing. I do like it, though.

But I had no idea where to post it.

On that note, how come at the top it says “Blog a Bull” and not “Blog-a-Bull.” For some reason that bothers me. Matt???

The design was done by a third party

I didn’t receive (nor did I ask either) a chance to review it or anything. I would’ve had any M.Jeff references removed :)

Is it illegal to use a form of the real logo? (And does “M.Jeff = the 23 on the ball?)

Without it being too much of a hassle, of course. Just curious.

How about...

The Busted One?? Will certainly apply when the bulls trade Gordon and will struggle to score 90\gm. Meanwhile, back on southbeach, Beasly and Wade will be having monster years. Just imagine if Durant had Wade on that sonics team.

Bulls got it wrong…..wait n see!!

Boooooo.

Looks like you joined BAB just before the draft and have been doing nothing but spreading negativity about Rose. I think you’re a secret Miami Heat fan trying to cause trouble… Pat Riley? You wanted Rose to yourself, now you’re trying to convince the rest of the world things worked out for the best. We know your secrets, and so does Chad Ford. (NBA Dish 6/27)

What do you see in a 14 ppg with no jumper that makes one think he will be better than a 26ppg\ 12rpg guy? Is there some kind of magic formula that tells you 14 > 26??

I am thinking the media was drooling over the quotable Beasley. All Rose gives them is a speeding ticket. They are likely annoyed.
