It's all speculation for now, but interesting

That was one crappy Daily Herald article

800 words of pure speculation? Trade for Channing Frye? Trade Hughes for Malik Rose and Jared Jeffries, killing our cap space for 2010? If that was posted as a regular fanpost, it would probably get deleted.

So...

You have such an interesting life that you can sit there and count the words in an article? It is speculation, but it’s more credible than the bloggers that send out trade proposals on here, that you like to respond too. I didn’t say they should do this, i just came across it, that is why it is a fanshot, not a fanpost. Get that stick out of you *ss, and be happy about the Rose situation and all good that has happened lately.

As much as I like Brand,

he is decidedly not an uptempo player. Plus, losing Gooden leaves us with only Gray to back up Noah. I like Gooden backing up both the 4 and 5.

And finally, I don’t want to take any minutes away from Tyrus. If the Bulls want him to develop, this is the year. Another year of yo-yoing in and out of the line-up and we might as well get rid of him entirely.

It feels so strange to say it, but with Rose, suddenly our whole team AS IS seems pretty well balanced and efficiently targeted for particular style of play.

Also liked VDN’s comment that with Rose the Bulls are going to open the court. Nice.

I'm with you on the as-is thing

With our current lineup, and by benching Hughes and Gray…

Gooden, Tyrus, and Noah could all get 30mpg.
Rose, Hinrich, Gordon, and Thabo could all get 20-30mpg.

Which is great. If Hinrich/Gordon don’t work well with Rose, we can unload one of them after the season (I’d try to unload Nocioni now, though, and give his minutes to Thabo/Nichols/Hughes, with Deng playing 40mpg.) Talk of bringing in a big name inside player just doesn’t make sense to me with Tyrus and Noah still developing.

The only place Brand will realistically go to is Miami

They play the type of slow down basketball that makes him effective. We just drafted a PG who can run the open court for 10 years, why destroy the salary cap by bringing a player who could just bog him down? If there’s a power forward on the market that this Bulls team would need, it would be Josh Smith. But, that has zero likelihood of occurring as well.

I’m not worried about the frontcourt. Let Tyrus play consistently for a whole season, and he will show marked improvement. This team should be more concerned with re-signing their two RFA’s, and figuring a way to move someone in their backcourt for a quality big man.
