Around SBN: This Should Encourage Juan Mata

According to Chad Ford at ESPN, the Clippers have offered their #7 pick and the rights to their pick next season for the Sonics' pick at #4.

I probably do that if I'm Seattle

Love, Westbrook, Gordon, or Bayless will probably be available at #7, and since the Clips will probably be terrible this year again, next year’s pick has a high value.

What an odd trade for the Clippers

unless… they planned on trading Brand + #4 for Marion + #2.

Doesn't this have to do with no faith in Livingston?

I think they can feel safe in the PG spot and draft Bayless.

by Ozzie Montana on Jun 26, 2008 1:32 PM CDT up reply actions

I think I just read they didnt give Livington a QO, making him a free agent

And they might be going in a completely different direction. The two biggest trade rumors right now out of LA are Brand + pick for Marion + pick, and Maggette for Barbosa.

If they make those deals, they’ll have a 2-3-4 of Barbosa, Marion, Beasley… which is the closest thing to Barbosa, Marion, Stoudemire I’ve ever seen. Add Tim Thomas (former Sun and current Clipper) to the mix, along with run-and-gun types Cuttino Mobley, Quinton Ross, and Al Thornton… and you have the new and unimproved version of the Suns!

(I’m not sure where Chris Kaman fits into things, but until that I thought it was one hell of a theory…)

Beasly doesn't = Amare

No. I cannot continue this post…

I will finish this for you and Kaman is traded for Kirk because Kirk is like Nash, right?

weird formatting?

Plus, doesn’t Barbosa & Marion Hate eachother?

Seattle wont give up green

makes it tough for them to move up
They need to stay put and go with either mayo or Bayless, or if Beasley some how slips to 4, obviously take beasy.
There is not a lot of love for b lopez, which is surprising. i think he is the better offensive version of greg oden. i watched him play this year, lopez will not dissapoint. you team him up with al jefferson in minny, and they could be onto something in a year or two. but, obviously, if beasy is there at number three, the wolves would be dumb to pass up on him.
there will be plenty of drama tonight, that you can count on. this is fun

The only way the Clipper...

do this trade is if OJ is available at #4. Seatle can still get there man in Bayless at #7

by Jesse07 on Jun 26, 2008 1:42 PM CDT reply actions

This would be a great trade for the Sonics

You know the Clippers are lottery bound next year and so are the Sonics its just adding ping pong balls to next years NBA Lottery and still getting who you want. 4 hours and counting….. Is Kirk going anywhere tonight? Who would you take Hardin or Hendrix? So much drama tonight this is going to be nuts.

The trade is done

The Clippers and Sonics have agreed to swap picks as long as the Wolves take O.J. Mayo at No. 3. If Mayo isn’t drafted at 3, the deal is off according to two sources close to the information.

With the No. 4 pick, expect the Clippers to take Eric Gordon of Indiana. They’ve coveted him as the type of dominant scorer that they’ve been looking for.

The Sonics will take Brook Lopez or Jerryd Bayless at No. 7. However it seems like Lopez will be the guy

Please Pax!!! Can you trade Hughes???

Sweet, looks like the Clippers are back to being the Clippers and making bad picks in the lottery

yup

not yet, but is ‘planning’ to. And no, Clippers can’t trade him before he makes his decision.

So as long as Mayo goes in the top 3

Seattle gets either a reliable PG or C in Lopez or Bayless.
