Around SBN: Leandro Damiao Is Still Really Good

OT: What if D'Antoni was coach?

So, let me preface this fanpost by acknowledging that I'm a Bedger, and am kind of getting antsy about what my team's gm (KP) is going to do. So, I decided to jump around other teams blogs and see what they were up to, and had an interesting thought about how easy your team's selection would have been if D'Antoni was the coach.

Here's my reasoning.

D'Antoni loves to run and play quick strike offense.

He loved the Matrix (Marion).

Beasley is supposed to be a Matrix clone, and had the best statistical college season in history (which is why Pat Riley is having trouble deciding what to do in Miami.

Chicago has a pg and a sg (Heinrich/Gordon) that would be ideal for transition play, but have always been kind of weak in frontcourt.

Ergo: The entire nation would have known 4 weeks before the draft that D'Antoni was going hard after Beasley, and then the rest of the draft would have been WAY clearer. SSOL (Seven seconds or less) would have arrived in Chicago, led by Kirk Heinrich and Michael Beasley.

Wow, D'Antoni is a dumba$$.

Didnt Dantoni

want D Rose as the 2nd coming of Steve Nash and that Rose could lead the Run n Gun offence as good if not better than than Nash.

Not to mention...

that everyone would be screaming “Frozen/Bent Envelope” again. Just think about it for a second. If the Bulls had somehow landed D’Antoni AND then gotten the number 1 pick, one of the first thoughts through your mind would be that the whole thing was a setup. The NBA is the poster child for conspiracy theories.

That said, I think IF D’Antoni was coach he’d take Rose and find a way to trade Kirk “No E” Hinrich with Tyrus Thomas or Nocioni to Miami for the recently not opting out Shawn Marion.

The starting lineup would then be: Rose, Gordon, Deng, Marion, Noah.

OT: Does anyone else get annoyed that whenever Stephen A Smith mentions Tyrus Thomas he doesn’t say the “R”? He calls him “Tyus Thomas.”

OT2: “Poor” Shawn Marion. He left PHX because he wanted to be the star of his own team and goes to Miami where Wade is already bigger and Beasley will be bigger. Third banana again.

No one can get Hinrich's name right

Its not like we are trying to spell Krzyzewski here.

3 things...

1. He’s not.
2. No offense but who cares?
3. Let’s move on.

Step 1 - Win lottery. Step 2 - Hire a coach. Step 3 - Win.

I was listening to Waddle and Silvy today

Some caller phoned in with the genius idea of the #1 pick and Kirk Hinrich for…...........

...........................Kobe Bryant.

The fact that they didn’t insult his intelligence for at least 10 minutes made me angry.

If you read that entire post,

you would realize that I retracted my suggestion in one of the comments. I don’t think I’m insane, but I am definitely giddy that we have a young team that went 41-41 last year without last years #1 pick, who is projected to be a defender on the order of the great Bill Russell. Don’t be bitter because you have a worthless gm who screwed up the aldridge pick.

The next Bill Russell AND a mention of the Aldridge pick

I’m going to assume Blazers fans are so often batshit crazy because of all the excess cocaine and Big Macs from when Shawn Kemp was on the team.

Why would you make a fanpost and them retract the premis of the post?

If you’re giddy that your team went .500, well then that’s almost as sad as the fact that Greg Oden has one leg several inches shorter than the other.

why don't you read the post and find out.

And as for a .500 season, all I can say is that we exceeded expectations, considering that we didn’t have greg oden. Don’t twist what I said, use some reading comprehension and understand the spirit of the sentence. Do you have any critical reading skills?

Also,

I am sorry that I spelled Hinrich’s name incorrectly. I’m usually better than that.
