High Season Ticket Renewal Rates?

This is not a post about the team, but more about season tickets.  At the end of the season, I read posts here and on other message boards written by season ticket holders saying that they were not going to renew their tickets.  Even after the Bulls got the number one pick, I spoke with a number of season ticket holders who said they would not renew.  Even after the renewal deadline passed, I called the Bulls and was told that the renewal rate this year was much lower than the alleged 99% renewal rates from previous years.

The Bulls sent letters to season ticket holders this week advising them if their seats improved for the upcoming season.  I spoke people with tickets in the 100 and 200 levels who received those letters and nobody improved (myself included).  I don't want to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but in light of the anecdotal evidence I had of non-renewals and the Bulls' admission of lower renewal rates, the lack of improvements does not seem to add up.  Maybe I'm just talking to the wrong people. Getting to the punchline of this post, did any BABers get to improve their seats?

My guess is . . .

That the people who didn’t renew were people up in the 300 level. A lot of the people with tickets in the 100 and 200 level have had those tickets for a long time (which is how they ended up with those nice seats in the first place). Those people aren’t going to cancel their tickets because of one bad season.

Incidentally, I was one of the people that canceled my season tickets, although it wasn’t because of the bad season. I just graduated school and I actually have to start, um, working for a living like everyone else in the world, so I wouldn’t have had the time to attend nearly that many games anyways. I would have had to cancel mine even if they had won the NBA Championship, although the fact that they were so bad certainly made it easier for me to part with my tickets.

I did renew, but I haven't received my upgrade letter yet...

I’m in the 200 level so fingers crossed. When did you get your letter?

What section are you in?

(I got today’s mail and still haven’t received mine… I live 2 miles from the UC)

Why?

It’s relevant to this thread. Perhaps they only sent out some of the sections so far. If so, since this is a thread about whether or not people renewed, and whether or not those who renewed moved closer, isn’t that info that should be shared? I’m curious if there are sections who have not yet received a notice yet.

And I don’t get your comment in parenthesis. Are you just being a “jerkface”?

no that part was just saying that

this isn’t applicable all the time since some don’t offer a public email address.

I general, ‘private’ convos are best left just that. I don’t care to read it. Don’t know if StayChisel is cool with telling everyone where he sits either (that’s up to him, of course), which is why email would make more sense.

It’s all harmless….so yeah maybe I just felt like picking on it for the greater good. i.e. me not having to read about alec’s bowel movements.

I renewed, but I'm on an 11-game plan in 300
