speculation: Hinrich for Haslem
A Heat official said several teams have expressed an interest in Udonis Haslem if Miami drafts and keeps Michael Beasley, which remains a strong possibility. Haslem could be swapped for a point guard, with Kirk Hinrich, T.J. Ford and Mo Williams in play, and less appealing names (Jamaal Tinsley, Jarrett Jack, Kyle Lowery) also available.
(The big news, of course, is that someone would dare call Kyle Lowry unappealing!)
Haslem isn't equal value for Hinrich, though his contract is friendlier: owed $6,575,000/$7,100,000 the next two seasons. And the roster would be loved by David Thorpe even more.
Bulls could try for major 2010 cap savings by also swapping Nocioni for Blount, but neither Haslem and Blount are good fits with Tyrus/Noah, as they're both pretty slight for frontcourt players. So it'd be a cap-saving move, but I'd prefer to be at least a little choosy in terms of fitting the on-court roster.

Didn't we already try to go
the gritty, undersized, overachiever route?
Haslem doesn’t upgrade anything. Blah.

eh
not really moved by this. Plus they would get older, albeit, not by much (Kirk is 27, Haslem is 28).
But according to this post – http://www.blogabull.com/2008/6/16/553272/blogabull-roster-evaluatio#comments – getting older is not favored :)

yeah, you're right
...perhaps we can take Chris Quinn from Miami…he doesn’t make a lot, he’s sub-par athletically, he can hit the three if you leave him open…plus he graduated from ND! Those things alone would bring tears to Paxson’s eyes.

Quinn
He was pretty good last year… hey do you think if Miami got Hinrich they would go after Ridnour, keep Quinn and create the first basketball boy band -32 degrees. Maybe they can get Mark “Mad dog” Madsen to be back-up dancer.

I'm assuming
by “pretty good” you mean “decent enough to play significant minutes because of Wade being injured”

he actually wasn't that terrible
but that team was tanking, so it’s tough to judge any numbers.
He’s a restricted FA anyway. Bulls could take Marcus Banks back with the trade exception, but the Heat would have to give them a reason to.

didn't call him terrible
...he was decent. I just don’t think he was “pretty good”...specifically for the reasons that we both stated. A tanking team with its major star(s) hurt…of course he’s going to look better than normal.
Other than the obvious (Wade) there’s nobody on Miami’s roster who I would want…which includes Marion.

Haslem seems like a younger PJ Brown to me
Someone who looks good on a team that has all the pieces to make a nice playoff run, and can come up big in crucial games. So, he may be a nice player with a defensive mindset and all, but on a team that’s going to be going in a million different directions with a new coach, new potential star, etc. his value just won’t be that high.

Brown's far stronger
which is why he can get away with defending Centers. I doubt Haslem could.

You know what
I will even go ahead and use Chris Quinn and effecient in the same sentence. Chris Quinn was effecient last year, showed he had a good stroke, distributed the ball (to who I dont know), he did not deserve the Shaq comments at all and I like how he handled them LeBronesque. I would take him over Duhon anyday.

Nah
Just a disgruntled fan, tired of saving money on draft picks and low trades…(apart from the wallace trade) I think its time to show the world some Fidelty Bulls nuts and make moves…..

Lateral move
Its just not sexy enough, I know we save some money but it doesnt improve us. Id rather get a draft pick, shooter and ofcourse the low post scorer. The only thing that works is for the money and im sure there is more lucrative deals to clear cap room. I still would rather Raef and 13 for Hinrich and Simmons. I really think there will be someone at 13 who could help this team alot. We could probably replace Gordon with the #13 I am so done with him.

we're getting the #1 overall pick
that should be so sexy it wears you out.

My throat hurt so bad when I saw that 9th envelope by the time Freddy dropped his teddy bear I already had a cough drop in. I just mean that theres is so much more we can do with Kirk then send him off for Haslem.

The best thing about this is
full contact sparring between Udonis and Andres at practice.
Udonis launching his mouthpiece would pale in comparison. And there will be no refs to defuse it all with a well-placed tech…

Haslem is way too gritty, experienced, jump-shooty, and non-reboundy for any coach to deny him minutes

He was lined up next to Shaq and Zo and he can hit a 12 footer. Shaq makes everyone better unless your smaller than 6’2” and white just ask Kerr, Dontowni and Nash.

Too shallow at PG
Even if we take Rose, we still need another PG. We still need Hinrich.

Yeah
The Bulls won’t be able to survive without Duhon’s six point contribution per 35 minutes of game time I recall fondly from previous years. The Bulls are already used to not seeing him show up for practice. Won’t be too hard for them to work around him not being at games either.
Everything I post is speculation. I have no insider information nor ideas deemed concrete enough by those who are self-elected to regulate post content.

He should be a back up, back up
Problem is, he probably doesn’t realize that he should only be a back up, back up. Skiles should be forced to pay for any therapy Duhon needs to help come to grips with the fact that he’s not good enough to be a major contributor on an NBA team.

We aren't having this discussion again
Duhon is the most mediocre player on the team. He’s not Larry Hughes bad, but he’s so “Meh” in everything he does it’s like you forget he exists until you see a photo of him giving some sorority girl a lap dance.

If Rose is starting, that's better than overpaying Hinrich for backup minutes.
I still think I’d prefer someone between Duhon and Hinrich, money-wise (and skill-wise I guess). Not sure of who fits that category though… Anthony Carter was mentioned elsewhere, that’s not terrible.
