3 way trade...
How about this?
Chicago sends Larry Hughes, Andrés Nocioni and Chris Duhon (sign 'n trade) to Utah for Andrei Kirilenko.
Miami sends 2008 1st round pick, Mark Blount, Jason Williams and Ricky Davis in exchange for Andrei Kirilenko, Kirk Hinrich and Thabo Sefolosha.
Philadelphia sends Andre Iguodala and Andre Miller to Chicago for Ben Gordon, Tyrus Thomas, Ricky Davis and Jason Williams
Your thoughts...?
Kirilenko is tired of Utah and Sloan and viceversa. That would leave them with a hole at the 3 spot and they already need a 2 guard. So, Nocioni and hughes can start at 3 and 2 respectively.
Miami gets two excellent defensive players to start alongside Wade, Marion and Mourning. That would be an instant contender in the east.
Philadelphia gets rid of Miller, which has been trying to do for a while now. Plus they replace the scoring of both with Gordon and Davis. "Pluser", they get a good prospect in Thomas to start in the future alongside Jason Smith.
Chicago gets the 2nd pick in the draft (i.e.Rose and Beasley), gets a big 2 in Iguodala and gets to keep Noah. Plus they still have Miller and Gooden to help develop both picks.
It is not a trade (or trades) that Paxson would likely pull for but maybe he reads BaB posts and he and VDN get inspired....
Your thoughts...?

my thoughts...
i dont think pax would listen to anyone but himself.
"Left hand, right hand, it doesn't matter. I'm amphibious."
I don't think Utah is in salary saving mode right now
Sure they would love to trade AK47, but for a reliable swingman that will limit the exposure of Matt Harpring.
Might work in NBA 2K9
Philly wont trade Iggy, chances are they will resign him to a max or near max deal.
Iggy and Gordon are restricted FA which would complicate trades
Miami are not going to give up the number 2 pick unless the Bulls give up the number 1
I can see Utah trading AK47 for Noc, Hughes and a sweetner like thabo but does that really help the bulls
So, just guessing here
But that has the following
Chicago – sending ~$44mil, receiving ~$21mil
Utah – sending ~$12mil, receiving ~$20mil
Miami – sending ~$24mil, receiving ~$27mil
Phily – sending ~$12mil, receiving ~$24mil
So Miami would likely be the only team allowed to participate, given the whole “salaries have to match” thing, or the trade restriction thing, or the sign & trade assumptions, trading draft picks AND RFAs…
Plus, that leaves us with this roster:
PG – Miller, Rose
SG – Iguodala, Brown, Curry
SF – Deng, Nichols
PF – Gooden, Beasley, Simmons
C – Noah, Blount, Gray
So we go from having too many people to having no depth?
I’m all for creative, but I don’t think we need to completely blow it up…

the celtics
just won the championship and theres not much depth in boston. You have 4 very good to great players you probably have a shot at the title.

There's plenty of depth in Boston
They gutted their roster but ended up signing a bunch of guys who saw time and performed well in the playoffs. The notion that Boston had no depth is a myth. Outside the big 3, Rondo, Perkins, Posey, Powe, PJ, and to a lesser extent House and Cassell, all contributed significantly.
John Paxson has been like family to me. I can no more disown him than I can disown my white grandmother, who also was unable to pull off any deals for superstar free agents or hire a top-notch coach.
umm
why would philly trade away their entire future and franchise player in iggy and give away the one reason they even stood a chance in the playoffs in a.miller for those 4 players none of whom can be the franchise player
yeah
i second that though now that i reread the proposal. And 4-way trades involving such big names? When is the last time that happened?

Repeat: 4 way trade
Who’s the GM on Crack? There’s no way this would ever work. Why not offer Ben Gordon and a case of BG7 energy drink to LA for Kobe?
no way man...
are we giving up the #1, kirk, tyrus, noch, ben, hughes(when they can take hughes), du and thabo to get back 3 players. you would be giving up half the team for 3 guys that aren’t even game changers.
