Well, thanks, KC.
That’s probably the first thing he’s ever written that I read and liked (I don’t read much of his stuff). And the few examples given… well, i don’t feel soooo bad.

I dunno if it really applies to Del Negro
Aside from Doc in Orlando (who the hell was on that team in 2000? Penny?), all the coaches he mentioned were leading teams that were quite successful before, and were pretty veteran playoff teams. Larry had a strong coaching staff around him, including future coach Carlisle, Avery was being groomed as the successor to Don Nelson, and had veteran coach Del Harris as an assistant. Anything can happen with VDN, but I’m just wary of him if he can’t surround himself with some quality basketball coaches.
