What about McGrady?
Why hasn't there been any talk of acquiring Tracy Mcgrady? Has injury history but a definitive upgrade in the backcourt. Gives us another option at the end of games Youtube video and with the Bulls he wouldn't have to play 35 mpg. He comes off the books the same year as Hughes.
Scenario 1 Draft Rose Then Trade Hinrich + Hughes + future # 1 for Mcgrady and filler (Think Aaron Brooks) Link .
Lineup
PG Rose/Thabo
SG Mcgrady/Gordon
SF Deng/Thomas
PF Gooden/Thomas
C Noah/Gooden
Scenario # 2 Draft Beasley Then trade Hughes +TT + cash considerations/future # 1 works for McGrady Link
Lineup
PG Hinrich/Gordon
SG Mcgrady/Thabo
SF Deng/NOCE
PF Beasley/Gooden
C Noah/Gooden
Would you be for trading for McGrady and who would you draft to play wih him?

Marvelous for the Bulls
not sure how Houston benefits, though.

umm
Houston gets two nba starters plus 1st round pick see Iverson, Garnett, SHAQ (1st time), Barkley, Gasol, Allen trades for good comparisons.

Those players you list were all traded b/c their teams were not good and/or the player demanded a trade
Unless you mention Allen in relation to his trade from Milwaukee. In that case, that was a trade for Gary Payton. When healthy, the Rockets are legit title contenders and McGrady has made no overtures that he wants to leave. Giving up a perennial All Star for an average PG, a crappy SG, and a future late 1st round pick is a hell of a way to kill a franchise’s chances at a title, not to mention set it back from contention several years.

I guess
but kirk is still probably top 12 in league and he is years younger and cheaper. In the other trade they would get a 21 year old former #2 pick who still could turn out to be a star. T-mac’s injury history and mileage is what takes down his value. If your Houston why aren’t you thining rebuilding? Phoenix has been to the conference championship thats close. Losing three years straight in the first round doesn’t qualify as LEGIT TITLE contenders. I’m not completly sold on Mcgrady just wondering what other people thought and think about reshaping our roster without completly ripping off the other team.

it has been discussed
but 2 years (about 120 games) of T-Mac isn’t very appealing.

So true, but I think Blacknight
was more asking if McGrady would be a great fit on the team now with one of the draftees, and which would it be. I think Beasley is a better matchup with McGrady then Rose, since we already have a couple guards that can spot up shoot when receiving a pass from a double teamed player.

If the Bulls trade for an elite "scoring" guard,
which is what I’ve always hoped they would do the past 3 years anyway, then they shouldn’t draft Rose in my opinion. If the Bulls go this route, then I would think one of the following guards would be good in a starting lineup that includes Hinrich, Deng, Beasley, and Noah:
Arenas, McGrady, Redd, Bryant, Richardson, J. Johnson, B. Davis, and K. Martin. Obviously, some of these players are extremely unlikely to be traded. I didn’t include any young scoring guards like Durant or Roy because I think there is zero chance of those teams trading them.
Does anyone know if Carmelo’s game fits a scoring guard? I think he is playing SF most of the time on Denver, but I could be mistaken.

LOL
Houston is in good shape for next season…They wont trade Mcgrady

I didn't say they would trade McGrady...
I only said he would look good in a Hinrich, Deng, Beasley, and Noah lineup :)
If the Bulls go the route of trading for an elite scoring guard then I think Arenas may be the most likely acquirable (for the right price obviously). In another forum I suggested Gooden’s Expiring contract, a sign and trade of BG, and 2 future 1st round picks. I can’t tell if that is over valuing Arenas?

are they?
Go check out there boards over there. A lot of fans are disappointed remember they have not been out the first round. How does that change next year ? Will they magically turn Rafar “skip” Alston and Louis Scola into defensive players ? Where do you see them finishing in the west ? Maybe 7 or 8 next year another first round flameout ?

Houston's D was spectacular last season
There’s no reason for them to worry about the defensive performances of individual players. If Yao and McGrady are healthy, they should be right there with the Spurs, Hornets, and Jazz sniffing the Lakers tailpipe.

Yes
I like Arenas but he isn’t worth that much.

McGrady
cant shoot. 22ppg with a 41.9 FG%, 29.2 3PT%, and 68.4 FT%? Sounds like Larry Hughes 2.0 to me.

Go for Nowitzki
I now it sounds crazy and maybe the Mavs would say no. But, why not try all to get Nowitzki??? We send Gooden, Hughes, Noce and Gray and our first pick on the coming years and they give us Dirk and Stackhouse. With him, our problem at 4 would be gone forever and we could draft Rose and DeVon Hardin (this one to help Noah at 5). I used the trade machine – sorry, i tried to link but i couldn’t do it well – and worked… Our major concern would be convincing Carlisle to let go Nowitzki. If that happened, our roster could be like this:
PG – Rose/Kirk
SG – Gordon/Stackhouse
SF – Deng/Thabo
PF – Nowitzki/Thomas
C – Noah/Hardin

I'm just going to go ahead and say no
First of all, that trade is shitty as hell, and no sane person would ever accept it. Second, the Mavs traded several of their young players for Jason Kidd so they could compete for a title now….trading Dirk would only take a step back and make absolutely no sense. File this under the “Amare for Corpse category.”

Do you say...
that because you don’t believe this trade could happen, or just because you wouldn’t like it?? I saw a lot of things happen on the last few days that i didin’t believe it. too. For instance, Bulls winning the lottery.
We need to make one good trade and I say we need to get a big man. Boston give almost everything for KG, so, we need to give almost everything to someone like Nowitzki…
C’mon, until now everyone said that we need a PF to became contenders. And now everyone want’s a SG that have back problems??

how does
dirk solve our low post issues? I like him as a player but dont think hes the answerr to the bulls problems. I would rather draft beasley than trade for dirk. JMO

This numbers are your answer....
2007
- 36,0 mpg
- 23,6 ppg
- 8,6 rpg
- 3,5 apg
Career
- 36,5 mpg
- 22,4
- 8,6 rpg
- 2,7 apg
He can do almost everything and can shoot the 3’s as well…That’s why… Besides KG, Howard – he can’t shoot the 3’s – Amare and Duncan, who do you think it’s better than him right now at de low post? Rasheed and Chris Bosh are at the same level, i think…

Dirk is not a low post player
At least not in the traditional terms. And no, the trade won’t happen because it never will happen. Mark Cuban will never trade Dirk unless he has a shot at a legit All-Star, like possibly Carmelo or someone of that ilk. Dirk isn’t that old and should play better with a full season alongside Jason Kidd.

Mcgrady is old and beat up
The thing I think about when Mcgrady comes to mind is someone who is older than he really is. I mean he seems allot more beat up than a player his age should. Plus – hes never done anything team wise. His teams have never advanced past the first round and he was on one of the worst teams ever in Orlando. In a few years I envison a tired and beat up Mcrgrady glomming on as a sixth man to a team that will seem as if its on the brink of a championship; ala Karl Malone with the Lakers or now Shaq with Phoenix.

i would make that trade in a heartbeat....

Houston aint movin. Every other year they looked great but this next year there coming strong that winning streak is always going to be an inspiration to that team.
