Michael Beasley: I really like Carmelo’s game, big body, can step out and shoot the J, post up. That’s pretty much it. LeBron, I think everyone wants to play like LeBron, Kobe Bryant. I really try to critique my game and Carmelo.

So, yeah, he likes to shoot the jumper.
Reporter: What are some things you think you’ll have to work on at the next level?Michael Beasley: Everything, strength, conditioning, my jump shot, my dribbling, free throw shooting, rebounding, cheerleading.
Umm… so he doesn’t need to work on his post-game at all, huh? I think, for whatever you want to say in support of taking Beasley, we should stop saying “He’s the low-post scoring presence the Bulls need.” Please. Thank you.

Yeah, if he were Al Jefferson with a 3 point shot, this would be a different discussion
Beasley can be a 20/10 guy in the NBA, it’s just a matter of whether he’s the kind of guy you can throw the ball down to like Gasol and run the offense through him, forcing double teams and making the right pases. If he’s Antwan Jamison with a higher ceiling, well that’s certainly a great player, but will he fit the Bulls and make them a better team?

Good point.
He’s not the next Tim Duncan or even Kevin Garnett. So the question is, as you sort of said: Is he a “superstar-potentialed” Carlos Boozer or Antawn Jamison? This is assuming he becomes great either way, but one makes sense on taking him for need, another doesn’t solve any problems.

I guess "everything" doesn't include posting up, huh?
Here's to the most exciting offseason in a VERY long time!

Maybe it does
But the fact is Beasley, currently, does not solve all the Bulls inside scoring woes. Will the team play better with a guy with the talent of Beasley? Of course. But, we shouldn’t assume he plays a certain way because he averaged 26/12 and played PF in college, his game is far from a traditional back to the basket kind of guy. Like tyger pointed out, is he going to be a Boozer or Jamison? Either way he’ll be fine, but it’s more beneficial to us if he’s akin to a Boozer.

I've been trying to find where I read or heard this,
but I’ve read/listened to so much Beasley and Rose analysis in the past couple of weeks that I fear it just won’t happen.
Anyway, I read/heard (iirc) that Beasley gets roughly 1/3 of his offense posting up, 1/3 from jumpers, and 1/3 from rebounds/putbacks. So, yeah, not exactly your lives in the paint kind of guy, but that’s presumably part of what makes him so tough to guard.

Also, I enjoyed Rose's responses to these questions
Reporter: How do you think you command the respect of your teammates?Derrick Rose: Leading by example, staying at practice a little bit longer. Doing the little things off the court, showing that I’m a good teammate.
Reporter: What do you think you need to work on?
Derrick Rose: My all-around game, dribbling, ball-handling, passing, almost everything.
Reporter: Do you know any guys on the Bulls, played with them, crossed paths with them?
Derrick Rose: I know Ben Gordon, he’s a real good player, great player, great guard, strong guard. I’d love to play with him too.

Heh
Everything except for the last part…reminds me of kirk hinrich. Kirk hinrich leads by example, does all the little things, needs to work on everything, and i think he would like to play with gordon too (as opposed to larry hughes)
On Behalf of Sue, Wjb, Bullshooter, and all the other Hinrich fans...Ill keep the Hinrich Hope coming...There will be light....

Well I didn't include the question preceding it
Where the guy asks him how he can be a leader if he’s so quiet, and he responded along the lines of “I’m quite off the court, on the court not so much.” If you click on the link in the OP, you’ll see the full Q-A.

"staying at practice a little bit longer."
Sorry, Derrick. It’s all about getting to practice a little bit earlier. Doesn’t he read K.C. and Hanley?
