Please let that not be true
He’s obviously not going to get the job, but just the fact that he’s supposedly even being considered is enough to make you if Pax is in over his head here.

Wow
I went through Basketball-Reference the other day and looked at most every guy with recent coaching experience.
Guys that at least crossed my mind:
1. Any chance Mike Brown gets fired after losing tonight? I recently heard Sam Smith call Brown the worst coach in pro basketball because he “doesn’t use Lebron” right. Um, Sam, have you looked at the other 14 guys on those Cavs rosters? MJ wasn’t winning win he was surrounded by that kind of “talent”, so I have to think that Brown is doing something right. I’d like to see the Cavs try to run and gun with Big Z and the corpse, but that’s because I’m a Bulls fan.
2. Didn’t Mike Dunleavy have a big blowout with Donald Sterling earlier in the year?
3. Paul Westphal coached a team to the finals and now lives under a bridge downtown.
4. Again, Van Gundy is starting to look ok when I hear John Lucas being mentioned.

Mike Brown
I don’t know how else you use LeBron. He can’t shoot, can’t post up, and his whole offense predicates on driving into the lane and sometimes passing to the open guy, except his teammates (I do like West though) suck so hard they can’t hit open shots half the time. However, a coach can make lineup adjustments, use timeouts wisely, etc. He has horrible lineup rotations, and has never heard of the concept of offensive plays. How many plays do they run where LeBron holds the ball for 20 seconds? That points to bad coaching,
Mike Dunleavy and Sterling don’t like each other, but he isn’t leaving (yet).
Westphal is an assistant for Dallas.
If Jeff Van Gundy can be as intelligent as he appears to sound on his broadcasts, then sure why not. All I know is that before he started doing this announcing gig, he just looked like a very sad man.

You're right, he sucks! (LeBron)
On a proper team a guy like that is a sixth man!

I never said he sucked
Maybe I am just hyper-critical of him because he plays for Cleveland. He does play for a team that was poorly built around a once in a lifetime franchise player. I know, since we drafted a guy who could be a hybrid between Magic and MJ, lets’ slow the tempo and call the same play over and over!

Brown deserves to be fired
for playing Ben Wallace 30 minutes. (3pts, 4rebs, 5fouls)

There was one sequence
Where LeBron fed Ben the ball 3 feet away from the basket and he easily could have attempted a shot. Instead? A bad pass to LeBron, who takes an off-balance 3 and clangs it. It brought a tear to my eye, knowing how that Corpse has ruined the souls of every fan of the Bulls and Cavs in only 2 years, while those bastards in Detroit get to laugh it all off while they prepare to lose to yet another inferior team because they are so arrogant I want to scream.
Yes, I am just a little bitter over the past season.

This year, Detroit no longer need worry about losing to a clearly inferior team.
At best, they are the equal of San Antonio and inferior themselves to Boston and LA.

Are they inferior to Boston?
I don’t know anymore. When you consider Ray Allen is basically MIA at this point, both teams are pretty damn equal, unless of course B-b-b-b-b-b-illups’ injury is going to nag him throughout the series.

I would still rate the C's as slightly better.
Both teams have had their playoff experience this year skewed by luck. The Pistons have just been a little bit more fortunate in that regard.
