The Bulls have no superstar and no one currently on the roster has a chance of becoming an allstar with the exception of Luol Deng. I also find Jim Boylan a terrible head coach, and that we better find a better head coach during the offseason. I believe that we should make a trade with the Miami Heat. They are a slumping team that needs a better supporting cast around Dwyane Wade to be in playoff contention. We trade Kirk Hinrich and Andres Nocioni for Shawn Marion and their 1st round draft pick. If Miami wants another player out of the deal I would be okay with it as long as that players name is not Luol Deng. We now have two first round draft picks that will end up being in the top ten or so of the draft. I think it is very important that we draft a superstar because the Bulls simply are not able to trade for one. There aren't any superstars I know of right now, that want to be traded that would fit well into what the Bulls need.
If all of the following happens, we will hopefully get the 1st or 2nd pick of the draft. As a result we draft Michael Beasley or Derrick Rose, based on what pick we get. If we get the 1st pick, we should draft Michael Beasley, and with our other pick take D.J. Augustin or DeAndre Jordan. I would pick D.J. Augustin in this situatin, because with Hinrich gone we will need a point guard, and I just don't see anyone else on the bulls being able to handle the point. Despite Augustin not playing in the pros, he has great court vision which is what the bulls will need in their point guard.
If we get the 2nd pick, we draft Derrick Rose. He replaces Hinrich at pg, so with our next pick we should go for a solid big man. Assuming the Bulls 2nd pick ends up in the 10 or so area, i believe that we should draft Kevin Love. I know some people think that he wont be able to keep up with the pros and has little potential, I still think he is the best pick for the bulls. He has good post moves that would help us in the half court game, his outlet passes would help us fast break, and he plays really smart defense.
The hardest thing to figure out is where we would put Shawn Marion. Luol Deng will play sf, so do we put Marion as an oversized sg, put him at pf and have Beasley or Love come off the bench or do we have Marion come off the bench. I personally like the idea of having him play sg. He would be a mismatch offensively and would be able to contain his opponent to a reasonable level.
I actually like the idea of drafting Derrick Rose and Kevin Love better that Beasly and Augustin. Derrick Rose is a lightning quick point guard who could push the pace of the game to help the team, and especially Shawn Marion thrive. Kevin Love plays smart basketball. He is good from the line, has good enough post moves to help the bulls in the halfcourt game, and has a good outside to draw his defender.
This is what I think the Bulls should do to make themselves a good team.
