And if Duhon goes off for another 32 point tonight, I'll..not have to worry about it because it won't happen.

doesn't mean it's a bad call
It was the correct call, in accordance with NBA rules.
by Bluelou on Feb 9, 2008 9:16 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
But the NBA refs never call that consistently...
Other times, like Thabo's block, they call it.
IMO, if the contact if after a clean block, no foul. Why should the defender be punished because his momentum carries him into the same space where the offensive player's momentum took him? If it's after the shot, it couldn't have affected the shot.

by 1958ChiTown on Feb 9, 2008 9:14 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Well, I don't know where you've been
But you're right in that they really don't have many superior defenders; AK and Milsap is about it with Brewer out. And Deron too, but he's small. You'd think with Sloan they'd be a defensive team, but they really just work hard and rebound. And they can score a lot, so credit the Bulls "D" tonight, so far.
If the Jazz had managed to trade AK for Marion, I think they'd have been almost unbeatable. Real strong team.

Not only are dunks much more likely to be made than layups without a fould, they are even more likely to go in when someone is being fouled.
Dunks, especially the Tyrus Thomas kind, are more than "just flash".

Another excellent game from Thabo!
Bulls looked over their shoulders for Kirilenko to block them, and when they were in the lane. Did UT get one single illegal D called on them? That makes it tough, but Jazz still needed Price to go off, or it would've been close.

Bulls minus the core
I had this game pegged as a loss at the start of the season anyway. The fact that it was even remotely close without Deng, Gordon, and Hinrich isn't bringing me down. Sure, a win would have been nice with a days rest, but the Jazz are no slouches at home.
I still don't understand why the team makes injured players travel with the team on a long road trip. Send them home to rest.
