This sort of intrigued me. according to the tribune (http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/basketball/bulls/cs-080218-sefolosha-gordon-bulls,1,5 978943.story) Ben Gordon might be planning on signing a 1 year contract and then becoming yet another restricted free agent in 2009. I think this might be the best thing for both Ben Gordon's side, and the bulls side of things. Ben Gordon hasnt played the way he desired to this season, and having yet another season to show his stuff would be nice for him so that he can get a better offer or be considered a better player.
From the Bulls point of view this is also good because, for one you get to sign you best scorer for another year and thus not have to spend over that precious tax. Aside from that it will allow ben gordon's resigning to come into play when Ben Wallace will be an expiring contract which should help pay Gordon something more "fair" and also it should allow the bulls to match any offers that gordon will have as a restricted free agent.
I like this plan, yet i hope they only do this to gordon and sign deng, i would hate to see this game of "who to sign" continue in the offseason of 2009.
