McCants on the move?
McCants On The Move? The Minnesota Timberwolves chose to start Kevin Ollie last night against the Magic, and basically slid everyone in the starting lineup down a spot. Randy Foye played mostly at shooting guard, exploiting soft defense from J.J. Redick. Mike Miller slid to the three spot where he is most effective, Ryan Gomes played power forward and Al Jefferson get his work in at center. The belief is the change was about seeing how Randy Foye handled the two spot, as the team is shopping Rashad McCants, presumably for a starting point guard. There is no doubting that playmaking and decision making are a problem for the Wolves. It’s unclear if the Wolves are serious enough about a deal to pull the trigger but Wolves sources said last night they expected something of a change before the trade deadline, especially with Corey Brewer sidelined for the season with a torn ACL.

Wolves get
Hinrich

Bulls get
McCants
Collins or Cardinal

This is good if Hinrich is out of the picture in any moves to acquire Kaman.

I would be all over that deal like YESTERDAY

Especially if we could get Collins rather than Cardinal. Collins expires this year and even though he’s useless for just about everything else, he plays pretty good defense on the interior which has been lacking so far this year.

not that I'd want Collins getting minutes, but if he has to play for whatever reason

he at least provides something we’re bad at.

Second thing: McCants is like Ben Gordon-lite (but an inch taller), I don’t know how thrilled Ben would be about Rashad being brought in, but if we sat him down and told him that the deal was being done to clear space to resign him, then I think he’d be cool with it.

You know how great we are ...

I’m pretty sure that we’d end up signing McCants instead, for 12 million per.

"You remember the first time you picked up a basketball video game and you had no idea how to run plays, so you just gave the ball to your shooter and you ran around the court aimlessly until a defender was far enough away and then you jacked up a shot? THAT IS LARRY HUGHES!"

We'd have to talk to BG

Any move that deals Hinrich is actually an attempt to ink Gordon long term. BG brings more the Bulls with Rose than Hinrich does. That’s just the way the ping pong balls were drawn.
