VDN fines Thomas, Noah, and Hughes
"Del Negro felt the same way when he fined Tyrus Thomas, Joakim Noah and Larry Hughes for conduct detrimental to the team. The fines, presumed nominal to remind players who's in charge, stemmed from the Bulls' road victory Monday in New Jersey when Del Negro reminded players of a rule in the team handbook prohibiting pregame eating in the locker room.
Some players grumbled, saying they weren't aware of the rule. From there, Del Negro dealt with players directing what he viewed as either improper language or disrespectful behavior toward him.
It's similar conduct to what former coaches Scott Skiles and Jim Boylan dealt with, and how Del Negro handles it presents a true test for him as coach. After all, losing a locker room is far worse than losing a game.
And, obviously, the fines didn't go over well."

What's more shocking . . .
That there’s a rule against pregame eating in the locker room, or that Aaron Gray wasn’t one of the offenders of that rule?

Happy New Year. Holy Shit.
This has got to be up there in the “season spinning out of control” department.
At least they were still in the locker room. I’ll give a shiny nickle to anyone who can dig up a pic of Rod Strickland inhaling a hot dog on the bench.

So who gets traded 1st?
This has to be the begining of some sort of house cleaning?

Could this be why
Tyrus only played 3 2nd half minutes???
Damn it, …..Noah subbed in for him and Hughes basically played the whole 2nd half, Oh well, I thought I figured it out :)

wow
we have now reached Jimbo the clown territory. Eating and then talking back. Great.
I think Larry is looking for ways to get his bus ticket outta here

Good thing they didn't touch Vinny's hair
I think that’s an automatic suspension in the team handbook.

i'm just about right with you
the losses have killed my enthusiasm…now the stupidity (from both the players and the "coach") is making it worse

I'm oddly optamistic
All of this inconsistency and off the court stuff. And we’re in better shape then we were back in 04-05 and 05-06 at this time.
It seems like we could be on the verge of exploding once Hinrich comes back too.
But Thomas and Noah have been getting better; Thabo is gaining playing time and confidence. I think if we can get things together enough to just get on a few runs here and there it could still be a successful season.

I hate to rain on anyone's parade
but Thabo has been getting demonstrably worse. Noah is about the same, thought he’s played a bit more consistently this past month. Tyrus had a nice stretch of play but has again befouled it by acting like an asshat.

Noah isn't going to wow you with any offensive abilties but hes been doing what I pretty much expected on both ends
Thabo is going to have off nights I know…I don’t think he is getting worse; in the right situation I think he can be a great asset. Since hes been playing hes had 2 good games 2 so-so games one horrendous game and last game no one really played well.
If Tyrus just keeps his confidence I won’t be too worried he really hasn’t been getting enough playing time it looks like.
But my optimism isn’t based on those three killing teams it was more because we’re in striking distance in comparison to 2 years where we’ve made the playoffs and with a bunch of injuries. Plus we might have better chances to get trades and all that when guys get healthy. Sometimes when things look their worse I think thats when it sometimes gets better.

Yep, this team could explode when Hinrich comes back
since there are not enough basketballs for Rose, Gordon, Hughes, Hinrich and Thabo.
Pax needs to trade at least two of them for a serviceable big man, or one if Noc is traded and Thabo can back up Deng at the 3.

I don't see stupidity from the coach here...
I see three players being asses…regardless if you feel the rule is stupid or not, the players are out of line for reacting the way they reacted with “either improper language or disrespectful behavior”

i wasn't talking about him being stupid in this particular case
I meant more with his basketball-related, on the court decisions

I wonder if the Bulls can be fined
for feeding us shit.

You can stop going to games, buying the merchandise and even supporting their sponsers
and only watch the games on TV until the team improves.
I do not believe JR is Bill Wirtz, and would let the team decline to irrelevance.

meh, tickets are bought, food is good
I’ll just go there and boo and laugh at Noc :)

Epically disastrous.
Lets look at the players in question.
Larry Hughes – The Vet. Demonstrating locker room leadership. Complains about playing time.
Joakim Noah – The Smoker. Was disciplined last season for an altercation with an assistant coach.
Tyrus Thomas – The Professional. Was fined as a rookie for making boneheaded comments about all star game. Was suspended last season for ditching practice.
These are now the three names I expect to see placed repeatedly in trade rumors. This type of insubordination and divisive behavior is not conducive to a winning locker room nor a winning team. Remember, a cancer begins with the mutation of one small cell.

Perhaps the team can provide the players
with Kevin Garnett approved peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
12/31: Fire Vinny Del Negro.
