Why Don't we "Goon-up"

More and More as I read the blogs, listen to the podcasts and radio shows, scour the trade rumors, its becoming more and more evident that their are no trades or moves on the Bull's horizons. I could entertain myself with the trade machine and build reasonable trades that Paxson will not be able to execute at all, but instead of trade for a big low post presence or a shooting guard over 6'3 I suggest the Bulls become the Knicks circa late 90s.

Any trade we execute for a scoring presence is going to jeopardize the wet dream fantasy of 2010 and perhaps only midly help us, maybe it could even hurt us. We have become too invested in our prospects and like bad investments I always feel their about to shoot the roof and reach their potential. I hate trading low like we did with Tyson.

But we suck at D, mostly interior D and this run and gun approach is only helping BG and Larry build up decent numbers. My suggestion is to embrace the Noc, lets become goons.

It can be done on the chep scour  the D league and castoffs for some big wide bodies to become hack a machines and use them off the bench to destroy the other team.

people will stop going insid eon us when the realize they could lose a limb.  I want  thugs. They're cheap and we can use them to protect D-Rose.

Hmmm .. I agree

I think the days of thug Ballers are gone, long gone. They might be thugs when it comes to toting guns in the club or getting faded and doing something stupid. But when it comes to the hardwood they are softer then my girl fresh out the shower and that’s even softer then Lou Deng!!! We do give up to many lay ups and dunks but that’s what you get when your GM draft guys that you he would let his daughter date. Our team is soft from top to bottom and if they weren’t we would of never got rid of Skiles. So if we “Goon Up” this would be my Goon Squad, not saying we would win games but this would be my goon line up.

PG – Derrick Rose (not a goon but our Star
SG – Steven " Two Guns" Jackson
SF – James " Body Slam" Posey
PF – Kenyon " Keep a blunt with me" Martin
C- Eton Thomas ( i just respect his gangsta)

Bench
PG – Jamal " Extra Clip" Tinsley
SG – Raja " Sho Rang Kobe’s" Bell
SF – Andres " Flopping is cool in Central America" Noccioni
PF – Reggie " The Jeweler" Evans
C – Melvin " We Fly High" Ely

Is Danny Fortson still playing?

I know he’s not in the NBA anymore, but I wonder if he’s still playing overseas. He was a great rebounder. I would call him a thug, but he might sue me like he sued Jerry Colangelo.

Why resort to name calling?

Noc has to be in the top 5 of NBA goons anyway.

The problem is there aren’t a lot of really big goons these days. Guys like Posey and Bruce Bowen and our own Kirk Hinrich (in his first couple years) can’t really qualify because they’re more perimeter defenders and just not that physical.

As far as bigger guys… in no particular order:
Reggie Evans
K-Mart
Noc
the very unheralded Jarron Collins
Alonzo Mourning, who was maybe too good to be considered a goon, but still played like a real prick.

Forgot about Zo

Why don’t we have him on the team as a coach or something. Our bigs lack heart and that nastiness champion bigs have. Zo had that, we should pick up the phone and holla.

why don’t we get good players? That’s just crazy enough to work…

You need some goons to deal with

the Kevin Garnett’s of the NBA. Put the guy in his place.

My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.

I spent almost two decades

hating the Pistons and then the Knicks because they played like that….
