Forget about both Miller and Kaman
Kings' center Brad Miller admitted to the Sacramento Bee recently that he has a difficult time dealing with losing.
"I hate losing, hate it," said Miller. "I'm a real competitive person, and I get real grouchy and hard to be around.
==================================
Brian Windhorst of the Cleveland Plain Dealer has reported that the Clippers are expected to hold onto their stable of big men this season.
Windhorst claims that word around the NBA is that Los Angeles won't trade Zach Randolph, Marcus Camby or Chris Kaman.
==================================
So that pretty much counts both of them out.
This season is getting worse and worse. Paxson better have a nice lil trick up his sleeve.

Don't see how Miller is better off in Sac then.
Plus this team theoretically could win some games…especially if we made our roster resemble an actual NBA teams by say getting a center. Most everyone hates to lose, except Larry Hughes who just wants to play.

agreed.
NVB, you’re being too cynical even for me. Or maybe I’m just over-protective of any Brad Miller hope.

lol
maybe so…the recent losing streak has made me feel ultra cynical of this entire org the past few days. Maybe a win tonight against the Nets will cure everything…ahh who am I kidding…we’ll lose tonight and I’ll hate Noc even more.

Any word that claims Zach Randolph is untouchable
should not be taken seriously.
"He's not scared to take that shot," Rose said. "That's Larry. No matter what, I don't need to remind him to shoot. He's willing to shoot any time."

The Flippers are over the salary cap,
so for 2 months after acquiring Randolph, he can not be part of a multi-player trade which makes him very difficult to move.

Well...
I’m not going to track down the link right now, but if I recall correctly one of the ESPN writers (or maybe it was Sam Smith) was saying that the Kings owners really like Brad Miller, and would like to send him to a place that he would enjoy… an even though he hates losing (doesn’t every professional athlete?… except Hughes of course) they mentioned that he would likely welcome a trade to Chicago, mostly because of the proximity to his Indiana home. Plus, he’s familiar with the organization.

his familiarity with the organization
may not be a plus for the bulls… haha.
but yeah, i remember reading that as well. they had said he wanted to retire a pacer but he probably wouldn’t mind coming to the bulls. plus he was on the bulls when they were really bad. this is hopefully an improvement…

his familiarity with the organization
yeah, I thought of that… but as long as we can keep Noah in the trade he will have somebody to smoke with… that might help.

If Brad Miller is out, good. I don't think he's the answer.
Kamen is still intriguing, but we really need to focus on trimming other positions while we get ready to make a bigger/badder move trying to bring in a superstar at C.

How many superstar centers are there?
And how many of them would ever be available to the Bulls? The only one I can think of is Amare (if you count him as a center), who will be a free agent in 2010.
Why resort to name calling?

Mihm for Sefolosha
The Bulls have an overabundance of wings and need a big man; the Lakers have an overabundance of bigs and need another guard to replace the injured Jordan Farmar.
Risks:
1. Sefolosha may yet blossom into a starter-quality player.
2. Mihm has shown himself to be injury prone, and may go down with another injury.
Rewards:
1. While Mihm may not wow anyone he’s a decent player when he’s healthy.
2. Mihm’s expiring contract frees up more cash for Ben Gordon.
My questions for this forum are:
1. Are there any additional risks/rewards to this scenario?
2. Do the rewards outweigh the risk or do the risks outweigh the rewards?

You know, he's a guy we ought to go get
I don’t see any real risks to getting him, and he’s statistically been quite decent on the rare occasions he’s been healthy.

He can't be worse than Gray
Plus he can be signed for cheap.

Sure... but what problem does Sefolosha solve for the Lakers?
I mean, I guess they don’t need Mihm at all, and maybe Sefolosha might help somehow, somewhere. Dream, dream, dream….

a defensive minded guard/sf
He isnt that great to fill their PG spot, but he can fill in in the triangle probably. Then in the playoffs etc, he’d be great to have on their bench getting some minutes slowing down Paul Pierce, JJ etc.

Would you rather trade for Hinrich+??? for Odom?
Odom’s playing very well, but their SF defense doesn’t seem a problem at all. Not one Thabo could solve, anyway.
Their PG D, OTOH, could use help, along with a competent walker of the ball up the court. Although trading away Odom makes the SF position worse…….
I don’t know. Obviously, they probably couldn’t care less about Mihm

Sure but I don't really see the Lakers moving Odom
or wanting to commit all that salary to Kirk.
I think they’re much more open to tinkering then big changes.

Well, if the old Ron Harper could play next to Jordan,
Thabo could play next to Kobe.

Odom's importance
It’s not that I don’t think highly of Hinirch, but Odom is too important for the Lakers to trade for a couple of reasons.
1. Versatility: He can play all 5 positions in a pinch, and is a solid 4.
2. Speed and Length: The Lakers’ new defensive scheme is tailor-made for long and quick players like Odom.
3. Insurance Policy: He can fill in adequately for either Gasol or Bynum should they succumb to injury.
4. Expiring Contract: The Lakers would like to re-sign Ariza next season without incurring too much of a luxury tax penalty. Since Odom has said he’d like to finish his career in LA, even if it meant taking a paycut, the Lakers may be able to keep two very good players instead of just 1.
5. Chemistry: Odom has sacrificed a lot for this team. He’s a pretty humble, good-natured guy. I think he’s a good role model for younger players, boneheaded mistakes aside.
