"He's not scared to take that shot," Rose said. "That's Larry. No matter what, I don't need to remind him to shoot. He's willing to shoot any time."

you fail.

"You remember the first time you picked up a basketball video game and you had no idea how to run plays, so you just gave the ball to your shooter and you ran around the court aimlessly until a defender was far enough away and then you jacked up a shot? THAT IS LARRY HUGHES!"

The Joe Johnson - Hughes/Sefolosha matchup

should be interesting.

Luol Deng, Deron Williams, and Brandon Roy were wearing the same model Nike shoe when they injured their ankles.

"He's not scared to take that shot," Rose said. "That's Larry. No matter what, I don't need to remind him to shoot. He's willing to shoot any time."

what I like

is that he’s not a black hole on offense when he gets the ball

"He's not scared to take that shot," Rose said. "That's Larry. No matter what, I don't need to remind him to shoot. He's willing to shoot any time."

Not too bad so far

I’m surprised Atlanta isn’t trying to push it under the basket like last time and get Gray in foul trouble

by Protocol on Dec 27, 2008 6:29 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

I dont know if i want Noah in...

I remember him getting schooled by his ex teammate last time we played them and gray has been solid his passing ability is great

They're playing within their roles (for now, at least)

Gordon – hit open shots
Rose – slash/create
Thomas – defense defense defense
Gray – boards
Sefolosha – be a small forward

"He's not scared to take that shot," Rose said. "That's Larry. No matter what, I don't need to remind him to shoot. He's willing to shoot any time."

by Evil Pax on Dec 27, 2008 6:29 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

I'm surprised "Funking"

Positives – Thabo’s playing time, Gordon’s shots, Rose’s tenacity
Negatives – Allowing second-chance points, leaving Joe Johnson open, and it seems people are not liking Nocioni more than usual

That is the problem

He is playing half, but now he’s in the NBA. He was an oversized, fast PF in college. He’s a very weak center with no post game in the pros. His only offense is going to come when he’s first up the court and can downtown on a mismatch.

I think this is just an off year ...

he didn’t come in ready to work, he’s out of shape, etc. etc., and next year he’ll be back strong.
I really do feel that way. I know, seems odd … but … yeah.

"You remember the first time you picked up a basketball video game and you had no idea how to run plays, so you just gave the ball to your shooter and you ran around the court aimlessly until a defender was far enough away and then you jacked up a shot? THAT IS LARRY HUGHES!"

Play Rose, Gordon, Thabo, Tyrus, and Noah

That’s their best hope for a good defensive lineup. They need rebounding to the maximus to win the game. It is absolutely pathetic to shoot 62% from the field and be LOSING by 5.

Vinny Del Negro interviewed for the job today. I mean come on! Nobody else thinks this is nuts?

ABSOLUTELY

Give one to the fans; just one, dammit. Everyone here has been crying for that lineup for two years (ok, only since we won the ping pong ball).

by California Al on Dec 27, 2008 7:23 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Actually,

I’m more surprised than anything else, if Thabo was this effective on offense last year, Deng wouldn’t have received such a huge extension

by Alighieri on Dec 27, 2008 7:23 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

If Thabo was this effective Deng would have been traded 3 years ago

This line-up is nice

Which means we won’t see it…

→ VDN….

switched to Cal-Miami

that really isn’t fun to watch.

Sober, I was appalled at the women. Drunk I was told I danced with them all.

5 point game..

a three by BG and a drive by Rose and we’re back on track!!

Let’s be positive about this one!!

Didn't Hughes pick up

2-3 quick fouls in two minutes of PT?…

Don’t give VDN any credit for subs… ;)

by BAB-Bass on Dec 27, 2008 7:26 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

VDN wouldn't have played Thabo

if Deng was healthy

so VDN receives zero credit

"He's not scared to take that shot," Rose said. "That's Larry. No matter what, I don't need to remind him to shoot. He's willing to shoot any time."

Rose overrated?

Is Rose’s inability to get assists these days because the rest of the Bulls can’t hit a shot? Or is there another reason?

by wilsoneads on Dec 27, 2008 7:26 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

1 outside shooter and noone that can finish inside

and Vinny refuses to teach Rose and Tyrus the pick and roll

No doubt

they could be the next CP3 and Tyson Chandler combo, but…

Sounds a bit familiar

When he was struggling in the summer league, people were yelling this for a while. Luckily they were dead wrong

62 PERCENT SHOOTING?????

since that’s impossible for a Bulls team, I’m thinking the bulls shoot no better than 38% this half

by wilsoneads on Dec 27, 2008 7:27 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

thabo is 5 for 5 and BG is on fire

but as you said… im affraid the 2nd half is gonna compensate this to bring it back to normal %s

Has Noah ever been played at the 4?

Just curious if he could do his thing if at his natural/college position.

by California Al on Dec 27, 2008 7:29 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

I counted ONE screen the first half

Set by Gray. (Ok, so I wasn’t really counting the WHOLE time…)

It’s not like the screen is an integral part of bball or anything…

That's the #1 thing that makes me wish D'Antoni was here.

Watching Duhon + whoever run really nice pick and rolls against us made me very sad.

Being able to get yout players to set

screens I feel most coaches should be able to do…

Noah always runs the P & R

Just a lot of times by himself

by California Al on Dec 27, 2008 7:31 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

you need to recount

the bulls play screen and roll on almost every play. did you mean off the ball screen?

And 1!

"He's not scared to take that shot," Rose said. "That's Larry. No matter what, I don't need to remind him to shoot. He's willing to shoot any time."

Gray is doing very good..

he needs more love from the fans!

by simonswiss on Dec 27, 2008 7:31 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

agreed

Does he have any kind of outside shot? Can’t see him contributing much on the blocks, but that is one large screen. Now if he could only develop an Okur or Laimbeer set shot.

by California Al on Dec 27, 2008 7:33 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

haha is the roof leaking again?

Yeah...

But I kinda wish his assist numbers were a lot better. You’ve seen with CP3 how his assists are so much more damaging than his points…

by Alighieri on Dec 27, 2008 7:33 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

too bad we won't see this from him in a Bulls uniform next year

"He's not scared to take that shot," Rose said. "That's Larry. No matter what, I don't need to remind him to shoot. He's willing to shoot any time."

thabo has a good stat line...

100% shooting, 3 assists, 12 points… ok 2 TO haha

haha

I think Marco Belinelli is on my list somewhere…

This is my first time watching the Bulls in HD

I got an HDTV for Christmas. I have to say, Vinny’s hair looks even better in HD.
