My Bulls Christmas Wish List

12 HOPEFUL WISHES THAT MY TRUE LOVE GIVES TO ME

1) The Obvious. A trade bringing the Bulls a solid big man like Miller without giving up on some promising talent.

2) Derrick Rose to gain an All Star berth and win ROY honors in one of the deepest rookie classes in years.  To some, an All Star appearance may seem meaningless but call me dumb.  I think a first year pg to get into the All Star game automatically makes him the star that gets benefits, like frequent foul calls.

3) For all trade proposals on Blogabull.com to have their own thread.  Might as well call them "Tradeposts"

4) Luol Deng to turn into Luol Deng again.  The system has to work for a slashing forward, doesn't it?

5) Larry Hughes to hurt that damn shoulder again.  But this time, not heal as fast.

6) To see Thomas and Noah start side by side for a minimum of 20 games straight.  And not get Aaron Gray starting minutes.  Just to see what you might have in a season that really is going nowhere.

7) For a Blazers fan to never post on Blogabull.com again during game threads.  Seriously, that was just really pathetic.

8) For the Bulls to somehow figure out a way to keep Ben Gordon without killing any hopes of a possible 2010 surprise.

9) A new coach.  One that realizes that the future of our team depends on guys that were recently drafted and not the hefty paid ones.

10) A playoff berth.  Yes, please no more lottery picks.  Get Rose a taste of the action

11) Aaron Gray to somehow mysteriously vanish into thin air.  Not in the rotation.  Literally.  I wanna see him on a milk carton or something.

12) And last . . .

For the Bulls to stop pretending they're a small market team.  Use some of that insane amount of money they're making on the team and stop using the luxury tax as an excuse.

Not small market

just small thinkers. There’s just not room for taking chances or big ideas here in Jerryland.

Literally?

That was too easy.

What’s with the beef on Blazers fans? Their summer of meth addiction led them to believe they were going to win 60 games, big whoop. I thought Luol Deng would average 20 points a game this season. If you’re not a Celtics fan, you’re fine in my book.

Vinny Del Negro interviewed for the job today. I mean come on! Nobody else thinks this is nuts?

Wasn't that just one or two guys being dicks?

Mortimer for one, is all right.

I like hearing from the fans of other teams involved when trade proposal are posted, as a reality check.

Heh..

Well if they did that to the Heat forum they would of been the only ones there.

You lost me at Hughes

altho him getting hurt would probably suck since it seems like theres a decent chance we trade him.

Thanks for stirring things up on this slow pre-Bulls 4 PM day special. You get a rec.

I am with you on 2,3,4,8 and 10. I equivocate on 1,5,6,7,11 and 12.

On #1 – I am with you on a trade bringing the Bulls a solid big man. I am not for the Brad Miller part. He is 32 years old and his play has deteriorated. I have watched a number of Sacramento games and he is no where near the Brad Miller we admired. By the time Rose is in his prime Miller is retired. After a brief Hawes flurry I am glad we took Noah. Hawes has also faded.

On # 5 – I agree with reprisal – we need Hughes to play well to trade him.

On #6 – I agree about playing Thomas and Noah more – but why 20 games?

On #7 – There are times I like having fans from other teams on this site. We received some good insight on trade proposals from other team fans.

On #11 – Instead of seeing Gray vanish I prefer the magical appearance of an inside Power forward who is actually good.

On #12 – The salary cap is a part of the game. It kills me when we spend money on Corpses and they play like corpses. So far Luol has earned .2 of the 72 mil he is being paid. Sorry it just bothers me to overpay these guys.

Have a great Holiday! Excellent Post.

On those reasons . . .
  1. - The Bulls wouldn’t be looking at Miller to be the long term answer. He would just fill the void for a couple years and it would also help Derrick get a feel on how to play with a solid big man.
  1. - Hughes in my eyes has already played well enough in recent play to give him some sort of trade value. Either way, I’m actually content with holding on to him until his contract expires.
  1. - I just gave a round estimate of about seeing them to play together for 20 games straight to see how they would actually mesh. In my eyes, you might finally see what you would have if they played together for that long.
  1. - I didn’t mean all other teams posts. And I also didn’t mean Portland fans even posting on this site at all. All I meant was regarded on the day the Bulls played Portland and they beat our asses. For some weird reason, Portland fans were coming at us every way possible that night outta nowhere on that game thread and trying to rub life in our faces. It was annoying as hell.
  1. - I still think Gray just needs to vanish
  1. - I know that a salary cap is part of the game but so is the luxury tax. The luxury of being a major market team is being able to afford the penalty of the luxury tax. So don’t let it become an excuse if a possible trade comes along that can instantly make the team better.

By the way

I have no idea why each number listed above is listed as number 1. I wrote the number you were referring to each time but they magically all turned into 1’s.

Anyways, I responded to all your points in exact order . . . if that helps

Thanks for the clarification.

I couldn’t understand what I said to have so many replies to #1. I’m also OK with keeping Hughes. He does add a weapon at the end of games. He won one game for us (Utah) and helped win the Knick game with a three at the end of the game. Any Bull who helps beat the Knicks garners my affection. However, I was watching game #6 2006 Wizards verses Cleveland. It was a great game with Arenas going for 42 but Cleveland won on Damon Jones shot. This was the game Arenas missed two free throws at the end of the game that could have iced the game. What I found most interesting was how terrible Hughes was. He was in the game most of the final period. Not only was Hughes chucking them up he was missing badly.

I think Reinsdorf would go over the salary cap if he felt we could compete for a championship. The problem is that it is his decision when he decides we are competing for a championship. I still think Reinsdord was behind the horrible Wallace signing.

Thanks for the reply.

this may be the game

where we see: Rose/BG/Deng/Tyrus/Noah…. a lot

Hopefully

I vote for Thomas to play, play more and play regularly.-Sam Smith

I'd actually like to keep Gray around and involved.

He’s a useful back-up center that will always be cheap (because of his low ceiling) and can help win games. He never tries to do more than he can do. He’s still learning. I thihnk he might be leading the league in offensive rebound rate, and is pretty high overall. A team with Gray as the eighth man can win a championship. I’m not saying he should get starter’s minutes, but he’s much better to have than Hughes.
