Bulls trade chips, updated
"Something else we touched on a week ago: Chicago showing a willingness to part with guards Larry Hughes and Thabo Sefolosha as well as forward Tyrus Thomas between now and the trade deadline ... and an unwillingness to part with second-year center Joakim Noah.
According to NBA front-office sources, after some progress from Thomas in the past week, we need to move Drew Gooden to the front of the list of Chicago's availables and push Thomas' closer to Noah's status.
Interest in Thomas remains high, though, while Gooden is also considered highly movable with an expiring salary of $7.2 million."
--They should make a weekly update out of this. Hey it could be fun...that is if it weren't the Bulls.

LOL, if a couple games make a difference, I think I'm gonna heave.
That same article suggests
Mavs management, furthermore, sees quite clearly now that a group which it felt needed a significant shakeup 10 months ago still needs at least one more quality newcomer via trade — preferably a scoring threat at either shooting guard or center — for the current assemblage of talent to nudge Dallas back into the West’s elite.
That’s the move, according to NBA front-office sources, Dallas is chasing hard now.
How about a trade that principally revolves around Hughes (SG), and Nocioni (shooter) for Stackhouse (expiring contract) and Dampier (non guaranteed in 2010)?
1- Rose, Hinrich
2- Gordon
3- Deng, Thabo
4- Gooden, Tyrus
5- Dampier, Noah, Gray

I'd do it
Dampier’s defensive presence would be a welcomed addition.

i think
they’d wouldn’t deal Dampier without a similarly sized player who could score down there.
If they’re insatisfied with Erica, imagine if they have to play Lasagna Diop full time

How about a Laker deal
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=19812456246617&teams=131344&te=&cash=
Simple, but it has its merits. Heinrich and Nocioni for Odom and Fisher. For the Lakers, their recent stretch has indicated that anyone can attack thier new defensive scheme through Fisher, and Odom has the same up and down syndrome as Gooden. They’re definitely doing everything in anticipation of Lakers-Celts II this year, and Kirk and Noc both bring the ability to learn Phil’s sets quickly and both add toughness. Kirk’s pg duties would be limited. Bring the ball up, trigger the triangle, and slow down Rondo. Noc is not needed, ever, with Ariza, Radman and Walton all available to cover the 3 and 4, so he can be used sparingly and appropriately, which raises his value considerably over running him as many minutes as the Bulls have. Comes the Celtics series and Phil’s looking down the bench tfor someone to get in there and hit somebody, and ooh, lookie there.
The Bulls do it for the salary dump. Short term, Lamar’s probably the best 4 or 5 we have and expires this year; Fisher could tutor Rose to shoot every time you can and expires in 2. Long term, the salary tied up by Kirk and Noc is now open to pursue whatever types of players Pax and VDN think they need. I think both players will give us their best, because of LO’s contract situation and Fish just because that’s all he does, his best.
Now the pressure’s off TT and Noah to mature this year. Follow this up with using Gooden’s expiring to actually acquire something that fits into our plans in a couple of years, and we could be moving into the Rose era quite nicely with resources. It won’t be pretty this year

I like it
This one could be a real possibility. It would also free up minutes for Thabo to actually get on the court. Kirk would be a great fit in LA and Nocioni really would be valuable coming off the bench on that caliber of a team. I can’t help but think that Kirk should be worth more than expiring deals, but right now those are pretty valuable.

I love that deal
but I don’t think the Mavs want to trade Dampier if they’re going to compete. Unless they believe they can go small a lot with Dirk at center.

Perhaps it could be expanded to included Gooden
But then it takes away some of the appeal for me. I’d like to have two vets up front, and simply swapping Gooden for Dampier doesn’t do much for me.

The Bulls interior defense is so bad,
they make Dampier look like Moses Malone.

You are a dumbass. Why in the f*ck would you be unwilling to part with Noah, you jackass? Now after TWO good games by Tyrus you are unwilling to trade him. Pretty much you should be willing to trade every player on this roster outside of Rose…

Meh. I think if the right deal came along
He’d part with pretty much anyone. Including Noah or Tyrus.

If, after only a couple good games, the organization changed their opinion on TT
then we’re in a lot more trouble than I thought.

Could be that they were almost ready to give him away...
in a lackluster package… and now they feel like if they hold him for another month or two he will raise his value and they will get better offers.
And if they don’t, they keep him.
That seems about right, that’s probably how I would be playing it right now.

Noah
Does anyone see any amount of talent in Noah? He can’t catch a pass, always seems to miss dunks, can’t get in shape to run up and down the court, no post moves…horrible. What kills me is the guy talks about needing to get into playing shape and is winded after 5 minutes on the court. You are 23 years old, skinny as a rail, and are paid to run up and down the court. Why are you not in shape once the season starts? Joke…

I do,
he hustles and does good stuff. And he likes to win; he really, REALLY likes to win.
I think he’ll be a lot better next year, but he did not come into this year ready to play, and he’s smart enough to know that and what he has to do to fix that.
"You remember the first time you picked up a basketball video game and you had no idea how to run plays, so you just gave the ball to your shooter and you ran around the court aimlessly until a defender was far enough away and then you jacked up a shot? THAT IS LARRY HUGHES!"

Sometime in July of 08
I posted a quote of Noah that he was trying to get into shape. Umm.. Maybe because he is lazy as Curry?? Substitute the burgers for joints.
