Looks like he has hit a bit of a trough. The NBA season is long and young players tend to have ups and downs (unless your name was Michael Jordan and you kicked ass from the beginning to the end of your rookie year). Could be a down time for him. But he’ll bounce back.

If Rose isn't going to shoot at the end....

…of quarters/halves, then I want Gordon taking those shots. Noce is a bit out of his element driving to the basket at that point in the game. Ideally though, we’ll have Gordon and Rose on the court most times when the clock is winding down. Those are two guys who will take and make shots. Noce struggles with quick defenders in situations like that.

its a “matchups” mistake that you could see vdn making. Basically, about how dunleavy likes to put “specialists” who have been on the bench the entire game into clutch situations and then run plays for them. Funnies OT EVA!!

Its also the first ot ive watched this season, so maybe im good luck.

Noch is mvp of this game, just for the fact that he somehow got Zach a foul that shouldve been on thorton that was initially called on noch, then he got zbo a technical…man that was hilarious…zbo should be called big baby on looks alone.

Hughes cant hit a freethrow, he tortures me sometimes

People left the game before gordons 4 pt play….morons!

e.gordon is nothing like b. gordon….gordon wouldnt sulk after a bad play, e. gordon lost all confidence, gordon would keep playing to redeem himself. Also its funny how the rookie made all the big mistakes near the end.

At one point near the end of ot, gooden was clapping for d-roses and 1 drive, and vdn litterally grabbed him by the jersey and threw him on the floor….that was funny!

Hughes being a tall guard helped out, that last steal he got from e. gordon…part had to do with it being to predictable, but hughes was able to reach the ball which even hinrich wouldnt be able to do. IM just saying thats what length does, thats a reason why height helps in defense (but im not saying height =defense)

Overall i laguhed a ton during ot, it was uber enjoyable….give noch this one people!

Hinrich told d-rose “drive it man, they cant stop you” or at least i believe thats what he said…(or i want to believe) :)

Thank the Force we won, because 2 losses this annoying to shitty teams would have been just awful, especially with a date with Boston on Friday.

Noce doesn’t get any flak. Vinny used the shitty lineup, but Chapu was huge tnoight. Rose is definitely hitting the proverbial rookie wall, some help from the other guys (ie guys not named Gordon or Rose) is going to be crucial with such a tough stretch coming up again.

Again, this game proves why the Clippers are the Clippers. Randolph just destroying us the whole night, Al Thorton takes the potential game winning shot. Baron Davis the big FA acquisition to run the offense…..and Eric Gordon makes the entry pass to Randolph. Just asinine decision making.

noc didnt win the game for us

he had a couple of big plays, but he got torched by randolph the whole game and then when they switched him to camby he got abused on the glass…it doesnt matter if you score 20 points if your opponent scores 30.

by rosefromconcrete on Dec 17, 2008 10:32 PM CST reply actions

In defense of Noce though....

…how could anybody reasonably expect him to defend Randolph? It ain’t happening. If we played the Clippers again tomorrow, Randolph would have 30 more on Noce.

by lexdiamonds0730 on Dec 17, 2008 10:34 PM CST up reply actions

he did some nice things

and i agree about expecting him to guard randolph or board with camby, but we probably wouldnt have even gone to ot if noah had played instead. Rebounding and interior defense are very important and I dont think vdn understands that. I dont blame noc for not being able to do those things…i blame vdn

by rosefromconcrete on Dec 17, 2008 10:37 PM CST up reply actions

Love to agree

but Noce did a good job late in the game just merely being physical with Randolph. He flopped big time to get those offensive fouls on Randolph (the 1st one was just ridiculous). No one was going to stop Randolph, he’s been on fire and the best you can hope is that he misses those jumpers.

concussion i guess

i only saw from the posts on this board, cause the clips announcers (i was watching on LP) never announced anything about him the entire time.

by Jaina on Dec 17, 2008 10:51 PM CST up reply actions

Yes they did.

I had to watch it on LP too and they announced it about Tyrus before it was ever posted in here.

by sue369 on Dec 18, 2008 12:06 PM CST up reply actions

i musta missed it then

i admit i ff’ed through a lot of breaks in the action (i started watching it late). that and i tried to ignore them whenever possible.

Matchups!

Noah was our best bet so he had to study from the bench.

How is Noah going to learn

WITHOUT STUDY TIME?!?
VDN’s just trying to develop him.

I think we can all agree that Rose is tired as hell now

Boy if only we had a solid veteran PG on our roster who could play 5-10 minutes a game so we don’t burn our rookie out. Oh, what’s that? Lindsey Hunter was signed so he could just give high fives? Oh, nevermind then, let Rose play 40 minutes every game.

Look at BG's PER at the PG spot!

It’s 25.3!
Obviously PG is his best position.
IT MUST WORK!

Exclamation points

mean that everything I say is right!

No, I don’t really like it either, and would rather have Thabo out there … but his dribbling … hopefully Hunter can not suck later this year. I didn’t notice him sucking before, but whatever.

lol

i didn’t think you were serious, of course.

i didn’t think hunter was awful either. and i wish thabo could play pg but his handle is really god awful.

by Jaina on Dec 18, 2008 7:38 AM CST up reply actions

I think Vinny is actually handling this right

stick to Rose/Gordon/Larry at PG/SG, while Larry is playing like this (and again, I think they told Larry to behave and they’d trade him).

Sure it means no great option at PG when Rose sits…but they manage, even if it is unnerving.

yeah

again, i wouldn’t mind hunter coming in for a spell, but nothing big anyways.

by Jaina on Dec 18, 2008 12:18 PM CST up reply actions

I'd like to see Rose sat down

when he’s playing like he was playing in the Clippers and Hornets games for a 4 or 5 minute burst so somebody can tell him not to be stupid and get badly blocked.
I’m worried that he’s suffering from fatigue or something … he hasn’t looked as fast as he did. Hopefully the ASG helps.

Noce guarded Thornton much of the game. Gooden was getting torched.

LA announcers said Noce was game MVP.
22 points off the bench. a huge block. drawing the offensive foul against Randolph.

Gordon with his 4 point conversion, saved our asses. Then Rose after struggling teh entire game, made that big time 3 point play.

Deng awoke from his coma to hit to key shots in crunch time.

Larry made the steal that drove the nail into the Clippers coffin.

Noah gave maximum effort.

Gooden hit some early shots and then disappeared on both ends of the court.

BULLS WERE LUCKY, but a win is a win is a win.

2 offensive fouls, actually

noc’s flailing actually paid off. he was great down the stretch, he deserves the credit. however it’s sad when noc is your best player…

seemed more limited to me tonight

but the game was 53 min, not 48, so he played less than half.

Yeah, it may be time to sit out some practices.

if he’s gonna log big minutes every game then we can’t have him go all out at every practice.

by lexdiamonds0730 on Dec 17, 2008 10:40 PM CST reply actions

Yeah that just seems to logical for Vinny though

Hunter hasn’t played a meaningful minute in a week now. Thabo doesn’t even exist anymore. Why do we have these fucking guards if they aren’t going to even play?

then there was a foul on noch and while zach took the free throws… the nocioni chants came alive once again….

In happier news, Aaron Gray only played 9 minutes which is about right.

Now if we just cut down Gooden’s minutes and give more to Noah and Tyrus (when he comes back), we might just have something here.

by fundamentallysound on Dec 17, 2008 10:48 PM CST reply actions

it's pointless

for him to start and then get benched. i hope vinny realizes this like he did with thabo.

by Jaina on Dec 17, 2008 10:50 PM CST up reply actions

agreed too.

i don’t hate gray the way many people do here, but i see him as matchup specific. why start him against camby? camby is built exactly like a certain other center we have on our team…

by Jaina on Dec 17, 2008 10:53 PM CST up reply actions

yeah

i see noah being able to perform like camby someday. well, if he works hard enough.

I'll stick with the Chandler projection

Mainly because Chandler is still kinda dumb at times that the comparison can be valid.
