What to do, with Larry Hughe?

What do you think is wrong with Rose tonight?

Flu-like symptoms? Deng had that a couple of days ago.

i think tyrus got taking out for noc cause

VDN thinks that noc can spread the floor better then TT and his rebounding isn’t that MUCH worse then TT’s.

thats probably his reasoning.

What?

TT for Deng? I’m a Noce fan but come on!

DRose isn’t himself, Gordon is, TT is playing well, Gooden is Gooden and Noce is…sucky!

Put Deng back in! I know he’s not “clutch” but come on!

Or is he still gonna be out with cramps. This dude is hurt way too much to be 23 years old. But it’s crunch time…and you know how he is about that. Honestly, with the exception of the jump shot he hit right when he came in the game around the 8 minute mark, you could not even notice that Deng was on the court in the 4th. by Basketball Smurf on Dec 16, 2008 9:01 PM CST up reply actions

For your information though Basketball Smurf...

…I don’t hate Deng. But I do hold him to a higher standard than most of you Deng ass kissers do. I expect him to do what he’s capable of at least MOST of the time. I’m sick and tired of good games here and there intertwined with all these sub par or just plain average games. Then the knick knack injuries and other mysterious injuries he ends up with just trip me out. He’s been in the league 5 years and that shit needs to stop if he’s gonna be one of the leaders of our team. Gordon is at times inconsistent as well, but nowhere near as much as Deng…plus Gordon got 6.4 mil and Deng got 71 mil so yeah I bang on him, but he needs to be banged on. Most of the other SF’s in the league under 25 have made major strides in development. Deng looks like the same guy I saw on the court in the 05-06 season and that’s a damn shame. If he were a NY Knick or Detroit Piston I wouldn’t give a shit. But he’s a Chicago Bull so I concern myself with the guy that many people thought was the best player on our team B.D. (Before Derrick) and one of the best up and coming SF’s in the league. I’m a bottom line guy. No excuses. If you ain’t gettin’ it done, YOU JUST AIN’T GETTIN’ IT DONE and nobody is gonna make excuses for you so I don’t accept any of the nightly excuses being made for him for the last 2 seasons.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

No, seriously.

Would have accepted more TT, more Deng even, more Noah.

But more thabo? You’re either his brother or his gf to even think this.

by PatBull on Dec 16, 2008 8:47 PM CST up reply actions

That might be possible but it's still a big if for me.

Anyways, the argument is whether Thabo is the answer to our Noce problems.

Personally, I like more TT and more Deng. Keep Noce to maybe 10mins to foul people and get them pissed then get TT and Deng to log in 40mins each.

by PatBull on Dec 16, 2008 8:53 PM CST up reply actions

how bout all 4...

no real reason to hate on Thabo tho.

by reprisal on Dec 16, 2008 8:55 PM CST up reply actions

More TT and Noah would have been nice,

but Thabo is the guy who generally gets the SF minutes, and he can hit a three [unlike TT and Noah].
Do you even remember the last time Thabo played? He did pretty good, and then he got sat down on the bench for a long time for no discernible reason.
Noc was horrible tonight, and Thabo would’ve been average.

how the hell can we lose to the worst team of the eastern conference?

pathetic

because

on any given night, we’re the worst team in basketball? Not consistently, but tonight there wasn’t a basketball team outside of the Thunder or Wolves we could have beat. It was atrocious basketball, poorly coached, poorly played. But we all know that.

Here’s a major issue: there’s no continuity on this team. Tyrus hasn’t played for so long, he’s basically like a midseason addition out there. Ditto Noah. We need the same guys – hopefully the right guys – to play the major minutes every night.

And the fact that Nocioni still plays at all is astonishing. Could sitting him possibly lower his trade value any more than playing him?

I agree with you on most of the points

I can’t believe how Pax didn’t trade Noc yet. He’s hurting us. Everyone sees that, besides VDN and Pax. But I think we played the right guys. We just didn’t see the usual D Rose. Honestly, this was the first game I was disappointed with Rose. What happened to that explosive player, that attacked the rim at any time? His defense was awfull and even DJ Augustine outplayed him…

The only Bull that performed well was TT. Maybe he’s starting to understand where he needs to be on the court and what he needs to do to be effective.

One thing I don’t get it. I’m not say he should play, but what’s the point of Gray starting the first and the third quarters if he doesn’t going to play anymore? Is there any explanation?

As in “maybe the worst team in the East” fucked.

Let me repeat what I've said after lose to Memphis.

FIRE PAX AND VINNY NOW.

General manager needs the ability to foretell what is going to happen tomorrow, next week, next month, and next year. And to have the ability afterwards to explain why it didn't happen.
Sir Paxdorf.

by Azabullsfan on Dec 16, 2008 8:45 PM CST reply actions

Why hasn't Pax traded for a big man yet?

Does he like being a below .500 team? Get Noce’s joke ass off this team and TRADE FOR A FREAKIN BIG MAN! My god, can Pax not understand this concept? I’m sure Brad Miller would be easy as hell to get.

vinny sucks

the bulls went away from gordon and he was hot at the beginning of the game…the bulls just didnt recognize anything and rose sucked balls…

I've never been this mad at the Bulls before..

we shouldn’t fucking go to the playoffs this year. This is fucking pathetic. The Bobcats just beat us without Gerald Wallace and Raja Bell. Are you fucking serious?

Our bitching

is certainly more consistent than anything the Bulls do. :)

Now we got Boston, Utah and Detroit up next!!

Doesn’t get any easier…but something tells me we’re gonna pull of 2 of the next 3…which will make this loss to Charlotte even more disgusting.

These are the kind of games that come back to bite you in the butt. These are the games you remember when you miss the playoffs by a game or so. They haunt you much like the Bears losses to Tampa Bay, Carolina and Atlanta are biting them BIG TIME right now.

Forgot the Clips....my bad!!

Who knows how that one will turn out though. But at least we have a CHANCE to put this one behind us a bit.

Some thoughts on a terrible loss

1. DRose played his worst game of the year and probably lost us the game. The first time that has happened this year. He shot 3-16 fg and was killed on the defensive end. Hopefully he will use this game as a springboard to playing better D.

2. The people blaming VDN need to stop. There were no rotations problems. The Bulls made the right adjustments before overtime started. That foul on DJ Augustin’s 3 killed us.

3. We are an awful road team and we play down to the level of our competition which is a really bad thing to do on the road. Charlotte got all the calls down the stretch which happens when you are the road team.

4. Some of you guys need some prozac or xanax.

5. Deng played okay in limited run. he was 7-8 from the field. Gooden was 7-11 and hit some shots down the stretch. Why are Noce and Gray playing? Noce was especially bad on D getting taken to the whole repeatedly by MATT CARROL?!?!

6. Until we improve our defense, we will be susceptible to games like this. We allowed them back in, our intensity nose dived in the 2nd and 3rd. We only play well in spurts which is no way to win an NBA game.

7. Another one tomorrow. So hopefully, a lot of this anger (you guys are feeling, i’m cool) will wash away.

1. Rose will work hard to bounce back.

2. What foul – and no “make-up” call in OT to compensate.

3. Cows suck on the road against bad competition.

4. Or a paring knife and an apple.

5. Noce is a gritty [redacted] guy.

6. We need Brad Miller to plug the doughnut hole.

7. Yeah, the Flippers stink this year too.

by Granny Waiters on Dec 16, 2008 9:05 PM CST up reply actions

But who do you give up?

You see Tyrus play like how he has been, do we give up on Joakim?

by Option27 on Dec 16, 2008 9:09 PM CST up reply actions

Gooden is not, or should not be considered as a long term solution

at either the 4 or 5, and Gray should only be playing 8 to 12 minutes a game.

I would start Miller and TT, with Noah getting major backup minutes.

by Granny Waiters on Dec 16, 2008 9:12 PM CST up reply actions

i agree that was a BS call

Augustin shot 13 free throws. Some of those were legit, he was beating whoever was guarding him by a country mile. But man, that phantom foul on the 3 was horrid.

by Basketball Smurf on Dec 16, 2008 9:11 PM CST up reply actions

Good points

Derrick played terrible and our entire offense completely went down the tubes with him.

Ya hard to put this on VDN. Other than as your point #3 is on the coach as well as the players.

Gray only played 12 min early, and he played well enough. Calling him a starter is silly, but cant really complain. Noce was brutal.

Our defense is awful.

by reprisal on Dec 16, 2008 9:11 PM CST up reply actions

Biggest bright side of all this

Losses like this will only force Pax to try and make a move sooner than later . . .

Or so I hope

by Option27 on Dec 16, 2008 9:02 PM CST reply actions

I still wish we would play with an actuall center during the game

Instead of putting drew gooden on Okafor. Noah and Gray were playing well (gray had 3 assists) There not that bad, but wee need a good defensive player. I like the idea of Brad Miller but mabey we can gett Camby for hughes or nocioni?

by knickknack7450 on Dec 16, 2008 9:03 PM CST reply actions

exactly...........

notice the only years we did good 04-05, and 06-07 we had at least half decent big men clogging the middle…eddy curry and ben wallace, thats all we need

by kpop7 on Dec 16, 2008 9:07 PM CST up reply actions

Both Curry and Wallace's games have gone downhill.

Brad Miller could provide some post offense, rebounding and tough interior defense the way Bill Cartwright did. Maybe he could even elbow a few people driving the lane in the head. ;)

by Granny Waiters on Dec 16, 2008 9:15 PM CST up reply actions

miller

where does everyone get this idea that miller is tough interior defender. Maybe they should look at Dalembert despite his awful contract if inside defense is the priority.

by Sambossanova on Dec 16, 2008 9:58 PM CST up reply actions

I was hoping for Thai

opps I meant Thabo….if Deng has the flu and Noch is having back problems it would of been nice to get Thabos crazy wing span to help on their small guards.

And I don’t understand why they don’t give Rose enough calls. I know hes a rookie but so is DJ. He doesn’t get enough recognition from refs; rookies with a big time role like “leader” I’d think would at least half the time.

But DJ was impressive (though I hate going into other forums and reading Hill> Rose or DJ>Rose if they play well against him since he gets more defensive attention)

by Camry on Dec 16, 2008 9:39 PM CST reply actions

Rose's worst game as pro; WTF was that shot by Gooden down the stretch?

This team’s playoff hopes are few if they continue to give away games to the Bobcats and the Memphis Grizzlies.

http://stillbullishinchicago.blogspot.com/

And for a team that runs high pick and roll, why they can’t defend it. Shouldn’t they be prepared for such tactics?

by Bullish on Dec 16, 2008 10:02 PM CST reply actions

Man that was just painful to watch

A new “most frustrating loss” every week. Rose definitely was just awful today, no excuses. His shot wasn’t falling, he couldn’t convert his layups, it just wasn’t there, but hell these games are what make him a better player, learning how to manage a defense that’s keyed to stop him. Defensively, his effort was poor. Left Augustin wide open at the 3 point line too many times. That last call was pure bullshit though. No rookie ever gets that kind of whistle with the game on the line, and they didn’t even make it up in OT.

Tyrus was great, but fucking please stop shooting the J when there’s 10 feet of open space. I don’t mind him shooting it, but just dribble it a few times get a closer shot, or force the big man to commit and he’ll find someone down low.

Deng had a good game before apparently cramping up, could have used him as another option and on defense. Nocioni and Hughes weren’t terrible, but didn’t do anything good either.

Someone please refresh my memory, was Gooden anywhere near the basket on the last play in regulation? I thought he wasn’t (Norm Van Lier agrees), my brother said he was right there for Rose to pass to. Rose obviously knew Okafor was going to come strong, if Drew was there he definitely should have dumped it off. Bah, another day another lottery team to play.

Call was horrible, but never should have been in that position and still had many chances including all of OT to fix it. Bad call doesnt excuse the loss.
