J. Dudley's in the mix too. Nice trade, personally I would have liked to see Shaq traded to the Magic for Turk or Lewis.

But J Rich is tall and a SG

We NEEDED him!!!!!!

What do you see in a 14 ppg with no jumper that makes one think he will be better than a 26ppg\ 12rpg guy? Is there some kind of magic formula that tells you 14 > 26??

that our PG is taller than your SG….lol

Seriously WTF

Diaw and Bell for Richardson. Richardson is worth so much more than that. Diaw is a good versatile player, and Bell is well, old. I hate the Bobcats (that is unless they trade us Wallace and Okafor for Nocioni and Gooden)

by Jamaicanpi on Dec 10, 2008 6:16 PM CST reply actions

A cost-cutting move I think

J-Rich is owed 40 over the next 3 seasons. Diaw is owed 27, Bell is owed 11 and expires in 2010. I dunno, the Bobcats are just poorly run, there is no logic to their moves.

GM Air Jordan in the clutch

once again.

How does he keep on getting work?

Great trade for Phoenix

Diaw and Bell are no longer the valuable/good players they once were. Richardson gives them some extra athleticism, plus a guy who doesn’t need Nash to create a shot for him every single time.

Good move by Kerr

Only downside is that this makes Amare even less the focal point of the Sun’s offense when he’s been complaining about not being The Man.

Good point

You think they got J. Rich as a back up plan if Amare dips?

Steve Kerr fleeced Jordan

This is a fantastic deal for Phoenix.

What the heck is Michael Jordan thinking? Really, his trades are just awful.

larry brown

this was definitely a larry brown trade. Probably became infatuated with the idea of having a savvy vet like Bell and Diaw does play a position they have a need for and he is two inches taller than dudley.

Seriously though, couldn’t we have offered something bettter?

is loving it. Im definitely gonna try to go to the Bulls game on the 31st

This trade is almost worse

than the Gasol trade. At least there was a clear objective with that deal. What are the Bobcats doing?

Do you even think Jordan knows this happened yet?

Probably won’t find out till Barkley sends him a text.

lol, i know

Wat exactly were the Bobcats thinking? Giving up J- Rich an all-star caliber player for Bell and Diaw. Seriously? WTF, I mean unless you trade those guys, then i see no point in that trade. The Bobcats didn’t even get a 1st rnd pick, and they gave up their 2nd round pick!!!!

So let's see...

the Suns take on a lot of long-term salary…they still won’t win anything…Richardson will demand more shots…they got worse defensively…

Amare in 2010!

I never considered Amare a serious threat to leave Phoenix

But, if Kerr and Porter stick around through next season, I’d be shocked if he re-ups there. The Suns former scrappy guards in charge really makes me appreciate the Bulls former scrappy guards in charge.

From your keyboard

to God’s ears. My wildest, wilder than 1.7% hope is that they tank utterly and Kerr decides blow it up before things get out of control, realizes that Amare’s as good and gone, and pulls a Kevin McHale with Amare. We ship him Deng, Gordon, Tyrus (he’s Amare 2.0, we swear!) and first round picks in perpetutity. Then the we pawn off Hinrich and Gooden for Marion.

The best part?

When Mike D’Antoni seems Rose, Marion and Amare we get to see this again.

The poster formerly known as Freethefro.

by MPG on Dec 10, 2008 9:10 PM CST up reply actions

lol

The only joy I derived from the Bulls – Knicks game was the pain I imagined D’Antoni feeling as he observed up close and personal the perfect engine for his system playing for the team he spurned.

I'm also amazed

the folks at hoopsworld didn’t break this first. You’d think they’d have done so just by process of elimination. The way I imagine it they’re all holed up right now going “dammit, we’ve got to lower our standards!”

How about we offer Larry Hughes for Morrison, Bell and Singletary

(we can do that using our trade exception)

But Bell’s probably a guy Larry Brown beats off to.

I've already contemplated a Larry to Charlotte deal

but I believe Brown was the one who traded Hughes away from Philly, so I kind of shelved it.

Yeah, though that was a long time ago

And MJ signed Hughes.

But by and large, yeah, I wouldn’t bet on it.

that the Mopey Iowan is still on the team.

When I heard about this trade

was last night during the Suns-Lakers game. They talked about the trade, but they kept avoiding which players the Bobcats were sending to the Suns. After 45 minutes I gave up and went to bed. I figured it was Gerald Wallace and Raymond Felton.

Holy crap. It’s way worse than that. It’s JRich and Dudley and a pick for Diaw and Bell. Really?

Michael Jordan has to be the worst GM in the league. Is he trying to make Isiah look better?

I'm guessing he found out about the trade in a similar way you did

maybe on his blackberry on the golf course though.
