Gray is starting???????

What’s this?

Please Pax, don't trade Hughes! Just make sure that he stays injured until... 2010!!!

Yeah, because of Shaq.

Even though we know he’s not starting. Del Negro is a genius!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess Shaq isn't playing

I'm surprised

I wouldn't be surprised

If he lost yet another 20-30lbs, I actually think he could do that

He’s supposedly got down to what, 275? If really worked on his weight and worked on the right workout routine he could get down to 250, be quicker (quick enough), and be stronger than 98% of the players in the league.

See, this is NBA Observer's strategy put to use.

Put in your worst player for that position so that he can foul the opposition twice right off the bat.

Somehow, this is a good strategy.

true that

It aint easy bein' Piatkowski

by Yibs on Nov 7, 2008 7:54 PM CST up reply actions

I've just figured out Del Negro's strategy.

He’s trying to show that Sefolosha and Gray are not rotational players at this point in their careers. Maybe he’s proving a point to the fans who irrationally love these guys. Maybe it’s to Paxson.

And, realizing this, I think sue369 is right: Hughes will start when he comes back so that he, and everyone else, can see just how shitty he is. By the time mid-December rolls around, we’ll be down to a solid 8-man rotation.

Of course, Del Negro’s plan blew up when Deng and Thomas didn’t play so hot and got the most heat from the fans.

you can roll

but that doesn’t mean the PG has to give up the ball, especially if it results in a mismatch that works in the PG’s favor. In Rose’s case, he can get by most players

It now has just under 3 minutes total for the entire season.

While Del Negro has had a tendency to start 2nd adn 4th quarters w/ the lineup the ended the 1st & 3rd quarters, I’ll bet a dollar this one doesn’t come back out. Despite the 3 pt lead.

by darksmokepuncher on Nov 7, 2008 8:48 PM CST up reply actions

That's true, but Hill's still doing well. Deng's offense is horrible.

But all the other guys are clicking on O. And his defense is more than just D-ing his man. he’s jumping ni passing lanes, rebounding, etc. yes, he needs to play better. I just don’t think he’s doing poor enough all-around, especially considering how the team is doing, that he has to “take a seat”.

I think they get worse as a team if Nocioni comes in gunning and flopping right now.
