Sergio Rodriguez
His agent says he wants to be traded. Should the Bulls have talks with the Blazers for some sort of package deal?

His agent says he wants to be traded, according to who?
Sorry, but at the moment, the headline of your fanpost links to itself. I’m just wondering where you saw it reported.

Actually
I saw this as well. It was in a Spanish newspaper – he’s pretty angry they’re starting Blake.

if he's mad about blake starting
would he take well to still being on the bench on the bulls? on the other hand it’s rose… and not blake. i don’t actually know much about rodriguez, but from his stats he hasn’t done much. but if we tried to acquire him (getting rid of hinrich in a similar deal to the one below), i’d sure be willing to give him 15mpg behind rose.
If he does want to be traded
this would be the perfect trade partner for us because we can start of with a package that involves Kirk.
i thought he was happy
now that his buddy Rudy Fernandez is on the team.
i don't think they're going to want
two guys with 4+ years of big money left on each contract. That eats into the Roy/Aldridge/etc. second contracts. And they just signed Webster to a 5 year deal.
I could see Portland maybe going after Gerald Wallace…something where they only take on 1 long term deal.
Portland has an ace in the hole
their owner is willing to spend spend spend

i would do that trade even without noce
i think hinrich for Sergio and LaFrentz works for what the Bulls should be trying to do. Screw coming out of a deal a clear winner. This team needs cap space and defined roles.
We have a point guard
If he’s unhappy about coming off the bench in Portland, how happy would he be here?
Because he's getting no minutes and doesn't have a set role anymore
Blake starts, Rudy and Roy both handle the PG responsibilities as well, where’s the room for Sergio? It’s a glut of guards that no one seems to talk about, especially when you include Martell Webster.
"I’m gonna rise up, gonna kick a little ass. Gonna kick some ass in the USA. Gonna climb a mountain, gonna sew a flag, gonna fly on an eagle. I’m gonna kick some butt, gonna drive a big truck. I’m gonna rule this world. I’m gonna kick some ass. I’m gonna rise up, gonna kick a little ass. Rock, flag, and eagle!"

We have a glut of guards too
And how much time would he even get behind Rose? Rose is probably going to be playing near 40 minutes a game in a year or two.
At least he will know
he is the back up guard. In Portland he is the DNP. Also his agent talks about Sergio and coach Nate not getting along and that is probably driving the trade request more than anything.
How about this?
Why Chicago does it: Get a solid backup PG prospect and an expiring deal. Thabo could be included to one of the teams as well to clear the guard glut a little more.
Why Miami does it: They have allegedly coveted Hinrich in the past, plus they still get a nice chunk of expiring deals.
Why Portland does it: They immediately solidify their SF position for this year and retain their cap space, although I’m not sold that Marion is a great fit for their style.
This is what happens when you have a team with great "depth".
I’ve got a feeling we’re gonna be hearing a lot more stuff like this coming out of Portland. Pritchard wants to keep gathering assets, but eventually those assets want to play big minutes. Plus if you can’t give those guys big minutes they never gain big time trade value.
I think they're pretty confident in who's a role player, and who has star potential
Roy and Aldridge are clearly the 2 best players on the team. Oden will probably be a very good player when he’s healthy. The only questions they have is at SF, where it’s either Batum or Outlaw, and how good Fernandez can be (they are hoping he becomes the next Ginobili.) The other guys like Frye, Blake, Rodriguez, Webster, Pryzbilla have set roles and their minutes can go up or down depending on how they’re playing, the only constants on that team are Roy and Aldridge.

I agree that they know who the star caliber palyers are, but
they’re still gathering up a bunch of players that should be either starting or getting big minutes. Every one of the players that you mentioned above probably feels they should be starting and you didn’t even include Jerryd Bayless. I’m not saying it will for sure, but it could end up being a messy situation.
