Why is this guy in the game? He’s gotten beat twice on defense and had an absolutely horrendous, line-drive jumper that bricked. Please put in a guy who can shoot, Vinny.

Well it could be worse
It could be Larry Hughes out there. But yeah, Thabo is probably the slowest shooting guard in the league
He is still injured. So it couldn't be him out there tonight.

There's something new
Please Pax, don't trade Hughes! Just make sure that he stays injured until... 2010!!!
Derrick Rose has shown us in just a few games how overrated the team's talent level
was the past few years. The rest of the team looks slow and like garbage with a few occasional “wow” plays. (I had serious doubts about Rose watching that NCAA finals game, but he must have been a bit banged up or something). There are no questions whatsover of whether he can “handle the NBA game” like Tyrus, Thabo, etc.
Thabo is garbage compared to Gordon.
Gooden is better than I thought, but has his ups and downs.
Tyrus has awesome blocks but clearly has not put it all together…especially looking at Rose in less than 5 games of his ROOKIE freaking year. Damn.
And what the holy fark happened to Deng? He looks completely lost.
If he stays healthy, the only thing slowing Rose down this year will be the Rookie Wall which most rookies (except Shaq) go through because of not being used to playing so many more games than in college or high school.
by KentuckyBullsFan on Nov 5, 2008 7:40 PM CST reply actions
I'm concerned
that Rose’s awesome play is taking away a few shots from Deng. But Deng just ain’t making those shots, so things remain to be frustrating.
At least he's back in front of Gray

What downers the ESPN people are.
They get a decent run going on which causes the Cavs to call a timeout, and it’s looking good for the Bulls.
…
Then they cut to Larry Hughes.

I know people don't like to hear it, but Ben has been gunning all year and dominating the ball way more than he should be.
He’s a spot up shooter, not a creator. But spot up shooters don’t get 10+ million a year, so he’s gunning and trying to prove he can do more. But he CAN’T. He’s hurting the team.

Forget Where's Waldo......Where's Tyrus?
The Cavs owned the boards against the Bulls midget lineup. The interior defense was non-existant. Whie TT was in, he created havoc in the paint and Noah battled with some success as well. I’m placing the blame on VDN for this chaos.
If you can't answer a man's arguments, all is not lost. You can still call him vile names.

Yeah, Who's on board?
You don’t go that small unless you have sharp shooters and that we don’t have right now. So we miss the shot and lose the rebound… and that is why we are losing…

ith my paper thanks to this score
"You’re caught up in basketball. Get caught up in life" - Starbury "The Great"
Does Ben think this is a good audition for a contract?
“Hey, Association, I’m like Allen Iverson but not as good! I’m going to force bad shots off the dribble that I can’t make! I’m going to pound the ball into the ground and completely forget about the rest of the team until I’m bottled up by guys 8” taller then me (at least two of them each time), and then I’m going to force a pass I can’t make, probably while hanging in the air because I jumped for some reason even though EVERY COACH EVERYWHERE has taught me and every other basketball player alive not to leave your feet when passing."
God. If he settled down and let the game come to him, he could average 20 points a game even in 30 minutes, especially with Rose feeding him. But that might be a pipe dream this year, folks.
Does anyone on this team know how to play team basketball except Rose and Noah (and sometimes Gooden)? If the present-day Bulls were a pick-up team looking for a fifth player, I might pass and get next because they are playing like the most annoying pickup team ever: forced shots, selfish play, quick shots with nobody in position to rebound, etc. I really hope this changes, or I’m going to start advocating some Cedric Simmons time (because he’ll at least defer to Rose and not play like an asshole).
I think the bottom line of all of this, sadly, is that Paxson has ruined the Bulls
Horribly constructed roster, refusal to make effective trades, and the hiring of a coach who has absolutely no idea what he’s doing. Pathetic.

Ruined the Bulls?
Do you not remember what this team looked like before Pax? No superstars! No play-offs! Losing season after losing season.
At least now we have a bonafide star in Rose and good young building blocks. Once we jettison some of this excess baggage for usable pieces we’ll be back.

I am not seeing any game-to-game improvement with TT
He pretty much does the same thing every game. Get’s a few blocks, make’s a jumper here and there, but mostly its a lot of clumsy shot attempts and poor decisions.
Has anyone been impressed by Drew Gooden tonight?
When he has his head up his butt, his defense is atrocious and he starts throwing up shots like TT on one of his crazy nights.
If you can't answer a man's arguments, all is not lost. You can still call him vile names.
Elbert Hubbard
I acutally have been kind of impressed by Gooden.
Sometimes he creates shots he’s not able to make, like he’s moving faster than his skill level allows, but he’s taking good shots, he’s not settling for jumpers every time (a couple times, but it’s like he realized it and stopped), he’s active on the boards, he’s rotating well on defense. I think the Bulls have been gypped on some foul calls, but he’s been good at drawing contact. Gooden is solid.
hey show respect guys

just needs that monster jam. to finish it off
side note: bill clinton was the best one in that game
It aint easy bein' Piatkowski
Deng is back...
Please Pax, don't trade Hughes! Just make sure that he stays injured until... 2010!!!
Yeah eh got that jumper
but Rose called for the ball and Deng ignored him.
Sooner or later
There will be a video on YouTube of Rose screaming “gimmie the fuckin’ ball!” ala Bynum…
Good!
It’s great to play within the offense, but it’s also great to have several guys who can step up at any time and take over the game as momentum shifts against you. RIght now we have Rose and Gordon… we know Luol can do it, and right now I’m all for Luol playing a bit more selfishly.
That shows confidence. And that’s good for us
Please Pax, don't trade Hughes! Just make sure that he stays injured until... 2010!!!
VDN told him to pretend we are the british national team

Is Luol Deng
demanding the ball to take shots? I haven’t seen this tenacity out of him since the Heat playoff series two years ago.
Did anyone notice TT?
He’s been very quiet…
Please Pax, don't trade Hughes! Just make sure that he stays injured until... 2010!!!
hes getting some boards
and thats a reason we are sneaking back into this game

No he isn't
He got that boards on the firts half
Please Pax, don't trade Hughes! Just make sure that he stays injured until... 2010!!!
that was the problem
TT was shooting Deng’s shots. Let him rebound and block. If deng keeps hot we will be ok

Luol Deng was
clearly deeply effected by Lou Holtz.

I don't know about the ESPN feed, but
on The U, they just showed a shot of the Bulls huddle and Noah aggressively rearranging his crotch with both hands. High-larious.
wtf i thought hughes was injured
ohhhhhhhh….

Oh boy, back to the three guard.
I was really hoping that it was a clever one game adjustment against Orlando.

If LeBron didn't have go-go-gadget arms, that would have been a nice dish.
And the turnaround jumper was necessary because of the shot clock.
If you meant “all over the place” as positive, then I agree.
i play circus music everytime he runs the point
as he runs in circles till there is 5 seconds on the shot-clock

So far I have learned that, we need to run more, everybody needs a role
and oh yeah our defense sucks.
Looking at the rim is looking at the basket
these analysts need to get off LJ’s dingaling

Rose needs to be lebron jr tonight
he needs to carry this team. He needs take it to the rim as much as possible. Fuck everyone else
Which means Ben Gordon can't be in the game
because he dominates the ball and refuses to swing it when his first move fails. We’d have some good motion if Ben (and to a lesser extent Kirk) passed the ball after trying to drive instead of stepping back and trying to drive again.
gooden is the only person
who constantly looks for rose first off a rebound

That cuz he knows talent

Tip for the coaching staff:
Put a shot-blocker in the lane!
When I watch NBA games I often call the fouls before the referees do. Sometimes it’s a gift. Most of the time it's troublesome. - NBA Observer
Is Rose the point guard or what?
What the hell.
I am no conspiracy theorist, but Gordon’s a black hole. He gets the ball and he either pounds it or just shoots.
VDN needs to institute a rule that Rose must touch the ball once every offensive possession.
It’s really aggravating.
LSU 38 OHIO STATE 24 - LSU IS THE NATIONAL CHAMPION AND I AM THE KING OF BOURBON STREET!!
I hate to keep bringing up basic coaching drills but
the Bulls could use a little “five passes before a shot” action. Unless, of course, we’re running a Rose iso play.
he flat out taunted our bench

I pray for an ACL/MCL injury every time he touches the ball.

The problem is not having a thousand guards
The problem is that if you look at thabo+gordon+kirk they have averaged less than 6 points and 3 assists. Trade them all for something good
Noce should have played more
VDN should have called him and said: make LeBron miserable and don’t ever never shoot the ball youself
That's the way!
Bulls cuts down lead! BG seems to be feeling it a bit. Just hope Kirk can hit a shot.
What the...
Ben Wallace is shooting J’s again? Cavs are in trouble!
Grab that rebound!
For heaven’s sake! you’ve got less than half a quarter left!
It doesn't matter what helter-skelter sets the Bulls are running.
The Bulls are playing like they are in a dark tunnel during a fog and a runaway train by the name of LB James is heading full speed right at them
If you can't answer a man's arguments, all is not lost. You can still call him vile names.

Horrific minutes breakdown today
Tyrus + Noah = 23 minutes
Nocioni = 25 minutes
That needs to stop immediately.
