Why is this guy in the game? He’s gotten beat twice on defense and had an absolutely horrendous, line-drive jumper that bricked. Please put in a guy who can shoot, Vinny.

Derrick Rose has shown us in just a few games how overrated the team's talent level

was the past few years. The rest of the team looks slow and like garbage with a few occasional “wow” plays. (I had serious doubts about Rose watching that NCAA finals game, but he must have been a bit banged up or something). There are no questions whatsover of whether he can “handle the NBA game” like Tyrus, Thabo, etc.

Thabo is garbage compared to Gordon.
Gooden is better than I thought, but has his ups and downs.
Tyrus has awesome blocks but clearly has not put it all together…especially looking at Rose in less than 5 games of his ROOKIE freaking year. Damn.

And what the holy fark happened to Deng? He looks completely lost.

If he stays healthy, the only thing slowing Rose down this year will be the Rookie Wall which most rookies (except Shaq) go through because of not being used to playing so many more games than in college or high school.

Rose has actually played good defense on LBJ the last two possessions.

He forced two tough shots.

That being said, take the poor kid off of LBJ. He’s giving up ten feet of height and 500 pounds.

What downers the ESPN people are.

They get a decent run going on which causes the Cavs to call a timeout, and it’s looking good for the Bulls.

Then they cut to Larry Hughes.

Forget Where's Waldo......Where's Tyrus?

The Cavs owned the boards against the Bulls midget lineup. The interior defense was non-existant. Whie TT was in, he created havoc in the paint and Noah battled with some success as well. I’m placing the blame on VDN for this chaos.

Does Ben think this is a good audition for a contract?

“Hey, Association, I’m like Allen Iverson but not as good! I’m going to force bad shots off the dribble that I can’t make! I’m going to pound the ball into the ground and completely forget about the rest of the team until I’m bottled up by guys 8” taller then me (at least two of them each time), and then I’m going to force a pass I can’t make, probably while hanging in the air because I jumped for some reason even though EVERY COACH EVERYWHERE has taught me and every other basketball player alive not to leave your feet when passing."

God. If he settled down and let the game come to him, he could average 20 points a game even in 30 minutes, especially with Rose feeding him. But that might be a pipe dream this year, folks.

Does anyone on this team know how to play team basketball except Rose and Noah (and sometimes Gooden)? If the present-day Bulls were a pick-up team looking for a fifth player, I might pass and get next because they are playing like the most annoying pickup team ever: forced shots, selfish play, quick shots with nobody in position to rebound, etc. I really hope this changes, or I’m going to start advocating some Cedric Simmons time (because he’ll at least defer to Rose and not play like an asshole).

by arjoseph on Nov 5, 2008 8:20 PM CST reply actions

I think the bottom line of all of this, sadly, is that Paxson has ruined the Bulls

Horribly constructed roster, refusal to make effective trades, and the hiring of a coach who has absolutely no idea what he’s doing. Pathetic.

Sometimes he creates shots he’s not able to make, like he’s moving faster than his skill level allows, but he’s taking good shots, he’s not settling for jumpers every time (a couple times, but it’s like he realized it and stopped), he’s active on the boards, he’s rotating well on defense. I think the Bulls have been gypped on some foul calls, but he’s been good at drawing contact. Gooden is solid.

It doesn't matter what helter-skelter sets the Bulls are running.

The Bulls are playing like they are in a dark tunnel during a fog and a runaway train by the name of LB James is heading full speed right at them

If you can't answer a man's arguments, all is not lost. You can still call him vile names.

Horrific minutes breakdown today

Tyrus + Noah = 23 minutes
Nocioni = 25 minutes

That needs to stop immediately.
