What We Need to Put Around Rose

Since the season started, it's become obvious that a lot of guys on the Bulls don't fit together well with Rose. But, instead of posting a trade, I'm going to put down what I think we should put around Rose as guidelines. Not rules, guidelines.

What we should put next to him at SG:

1. Someone who can shoot the 3-ball.

We could keep Gordon for this, but if you don't think so, then feel free to suggest someone else, because I'm too lazy to search for someone.

What we should put next ot him at SF:

1. Someone who's athletic.

2. Someone who has a good mid-range jumpshot.

I guess we could keep Deng for this, but if not, feel free to suggest someone else, because I'm too lazy to search for someone.

What we should put next to him at PF:

1. Someone athletic.

2. Someone who can block shots.

3. Someone who has a post game.

If Tyrus can learn to finish, or develop a post game, instead of continuing to shoot that 2-17 jumpshot, then he fits this perfectly. If not, feel free to suggest someone, because I'm too lazy to search for someone.

What we should put next to him at C:

1. Someone athletic.

2. Someone who can rebound.

3. Someone who has a post game,

Noah fits this pretty well, and he'll be perfect for it if he gets an offensive move. If not, feel free to suggest someone, because I'm too lazy to search.

So, for my conclusion, Vinny, start

PG: Rose

SG: Gordon

SF: Deng

PF: Tyrus

C: Noah

until we blow things up (please Pax, please) . Remember, these are guidelines.

Forget all that!

Pax needs to pull the trigger and somehow get Carmelo Anthony over here. They need to get a legit star here to pair with Rose. Gordon/Deng/Tyrus/Noah/Gooden/Hinrich, etc. will never be stars. Trade all those guys for Carmelo plus a draft pick. I really don’t care!

After yesterday trade, I don't see Carmelo coming here

Plus, Pax loves to much our roster to make a trade like that

Please Pax, don't trade Hughes! Just make sure that he stays injured until... 2010!!!

This post is...

lame.

I’m far too lazy to explain why…

What we need for position X: 1) Someone athletic...

This goes for all positions except SG, apparently. Jason Kopono anyone?

I have the perfect trade idea!!!!

But I will not post it I’m too lazy to post so if you have one suggest it.

I didn't have a trade idea

I said, if you want to think of a trade idea, then these are maybe some things you should try to get.

Get the rock to Rose!!

The only thing I'm certain of, at this point,

is that the only player on this team that’s unexpendable is Derrick Rose. You’ve got one blue-chip player. If you have to trade half the team to get a second, you do it. For instance: offering Hinrich, Tyrus, and Noah for Beasely and Blount. Offering Gordon, Tyrus, and Gooden for Boozer.

You get the picture. Pax need to make deals in which we sacrifice bulk talent for another upper-echelon talent. Reason being: two average players don’t equal a good one, and two good ones do not equal a great one.

Paxson’s never shown that he understand that. With a few notable exceptions, championship teams are composed of a few great players and many players who understand their roles.

We got one great player. Next?

Fine,

you guys are missing the point, especially snce this isn’t me suggesting a trade, it’s what kind of players we should go after in a trade, and not which specific players, but if you guys want names, then fine!
SG: JR Smith He’s a 3-point specialist that is less expensive than Ben and is, gasp, TALL!
SF: Stephen Jackson He has a good mid-range shot and could provide some veteran presence.
PF: Dwight Howard Hard to get in a two-team deal, but maybe if we have a three-team deal, we can pull it off.
C: Tyson Chandler He’s an extremely athletic center, who can rebound, and is decent in the low post.

HAPPY NOW? Jeez, everybody on this site is such a nitpicker.

I am with you MPG

It just occured to me that Utah would be a great trade partner.
Boozer, Millsap, and Kirilenko. Not all three but any combination of. They would probably take Hinrich and or Hughes. They have a guard problem. Hinrich would let Williams play the 2 a little and Hinrich would give them a solid backup.

Word;

as soon as Paxson realizes he’s going to have to give up a greater quantity of talent to get a greater singular talent, this team will be better for it. If I have my way we go after Beasley with everything we’ve got. Miami was never enamored of him, and Wade hasn’t looked too pleased with him a few times. Plus, their big plan is Carlos Boozer, and no matter what people say, MBz isn’t a 3. He doesn’t have the footspeed. He’s a short four.

Can you imagine how many assists Rose would have if it was Beasley shooting those jumpers instead of Tyrus? God almighty. If he even shot 50% on wide open shots from twelve feet, Rose would have at least a dozen more assists, the Bulls wouldn’t have gotten spanked so hard by Boston, and we’d be three and one.

Pax has to make a move!

You know what I'd like to put around Rose?

I’d like to put a Double Royal Ilima Lei around his neck. With his play, he deserves one. That guy is special.

This space for rent.

Hilarious!

But we’d have to make sure Posey wasn’t playing. That dude is dirty and possibly handy with a garotte.

you could've saved yourself

a post and just said – “a decent team”

by NormVanBeer on Nov 4, 2008 4:16 PM CST reply actions   1 recs

You know, I never thought about this before,

but maybe, we’re like a 2003-2004 Cavs. We just got the first pick of the draft, and the guy who we picked is the best player on the team. The Cav’s GM actually had a trade, but instead of getting better during the season, we had some pretty good players before the season. Those Cavs finished 35-47. If we pull off one decent trade, we could be 47-35 this season, and if not, we’ll still probably finish at least 35-47. Optimism!

Get the rock to Rose!!
