BULLS AND GRIZZ PART 2

How about this trade:

Nocioni and Noah for Milicic and Warrick.

Bulls get a center with more offensive moves and shotblocking ability as well as a 6'9' PF who bangs inside, slams emphatically and rebounds well (9.1pts on 43%fg, 5.3 rebs).

Grizz get high energy center to contrast with banger Marc Gasol and school Iranina Hamed Haddadi plus an SF-PF with range and leadership. Nocioni will automatically become the Grizz's leader and will teach Gay and Mayo how to win.

Haven't considered contracts yet but fringe players like Simmons or draft picks hopefull can pick up the slack.

ultimate and final insult of the Nocioni deal

you have to give away Noah just to pawn off the deal?

Warrick’s not much of a better rebounder than Noc. And while I agree that the idea of Darko (even with reduced ultimate expectations) is something that could be used on this team…he can’t even realize mediocre production, and is already mentally checked out.

Hmmm... I think the trade works because it fulfills needs on both sides.

Grizz get veteran leadership and 2 players who will allow Gay and Mayo to dominate while the Bulls rid themselves of an overpaid role player and gets 2 player who can actually score in the paint.

Noah brings more energy to then Grizz while backing up Gasol and Darko brings a little bit more offense and defense to the Bulls at the center position.

At this point in time, Nocioni is the marquee player in this trade. Darko is there to make salaries match. Noah is there to make up for the Grizz’s loss of a center. Warrick is there to convert Nocioni’s long range production with post production.

Everybody wins.

Also, with Darko gone in 2010...

…we lose his salary and can go for someone else. (Millsap? Pryzbilla? David Lee?)

Noah is better than this.

I don’t like the trade. Milicic isn’t good, and Warrick is like TT on year 7 of a straight-line curve of growth.
We’re giving up better players than we’re getting back, and we’re giving up a prospect for nothing.

Darko would certainly join Hughes on the list of the most popular

players on this Blog within minutes of his first game with the Bulls.
