Bowen is going to continually mug Rose tonight.
He’ll get away with it too, because he is a “tough veteran defender.”

gooden and gordon. contract year buddies.
by studdeir on Nov 26, 2008 8:01 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
my point is that rose is our pg, gordon didnt take a quick three, he wasn’t open, if he missed it people would be saying it was a bad shot.
by studdeir on Nov 26, 2008 8:04 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
that's his game
and so long as he shoots at a 46 percent clip from three, that’s great. My point was that having Noc and Gooden in on defense is retarded against the spurs. They can pick and roll with Duncan and there’s an automatic mismatch and no possible help defense.
by lampnasty on Nov 26, 2008 8:07 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs

by Option27 on Nov 26, 2008 8:06 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
i think it takes him a half to determine what his role is for the night. the lineups probably through him off a bit. half way through he just says fu*k it and dominates.

With this team
he almost needs to be that way, but he actually trys to get others theirs, before he decides that he needs to take his, which will be really nice when(and if) we get a star to play with him.

Gordon just plays one on one.
You can tell when he pre-determines that he is going to shoot. He puts his head down and pounds the ball hard.

i know. that type of play was a little different though. a shot needed to happen within 8 seconds. still, absolutely, when he is on that will fall, but what about rose driving in to dish to BG for a 3? i dont think bg has good enough body control and handles to do that consistently
by studdeir on Nov 26, 2008 8:41 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Welp
Deng was more aggressive, the shooting was solid and you guys had good minutes out of Grey in the pick and roll.
I think that the spurs hit their 3’s in the second and draw away but maybe not. Close game.

I think Bg is under the radar in terms of value. I still don’t think its a 12 million dollar value but he is worth every penny of the 9.
He shoots really well and Rose brings out the best in him.

rose brings out the competitor in ben. but i want a more symbiotic relationship that involves more teamwork. i want rose to bring out the shooter in ben, not the drive to the hoop ben. they could be a great tandem.

by Option27 on Nov 26, 2008 8:46 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
IMO, he doesn't play with Rose at all.
He’s playing against Rose in a little one on one competition which takes place solely in his mind.
Gordon gets the ball; decides he is going to shoot regardless of time, situation, or what is occurring on the remainder of the court; pounds the ball; and then fires.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.
IN the end of game situations when the opposing team is actually playing defense, it usually doesn’t.

True
But at the end of the day I think after playing with rose and co and having a good season he is going to explore the market and find there is no one else out there willing to give him that kind of money.
Everyones saving their s##t up for 2010, across the league teams are trying to cut payroll it’s one of the reasons the bulls love Larry Hughes its a prime 2010 contract at 13 million bucks.
In the end the bulls will probably be the team that can afford him

Gray in about 16 minutes of play, has only 1 rebound but also 3 assists
Let’s make him our point guard!
[barf]
Duncan must have this “who is this fool” dialogue in his head whenever guarded by Gray.
And Hughes sucks again. He’s fouling way too much, giving Manu free throws.

The entire team broke down.
Hughes cost us the lead with bad defense and bad shot selection, Noce made two stupid plays (facilitated by Crawford), and then Gordon just threw up garbage shots.
That’s why teams gameplan to take the ball out of Derrick’s hands.
There is no reason we should have lost this game.
