selfish

i think people are thinking the bulls are selfish because the past few years Du-du and hinrich and company passed like five million times to no avail. results werent good people. to score in the nba you need to be ab bit selfish so its good that good or gordon and rose are looking to score. In the old days du would pass it to hinrich to deng back to hinrich set a screen with wallace and wallace has it with like 3 seconds to go in the shot clock. I prefer watching gordon be selfish then wallace with 3 seconds on the shot clock.

by Sambossanova on Nov 24, 2008 9:17 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I agree that Hinrich and duhon passed (and dribbled in circles) to much excess...

But I just wish there would just be a pass and then a screen or a pick and roll…we barely even do those! And when we do, it just ends up with Tyrus or Gooden taking a stupid jump shot that never goes in. You can tell who is going to shoot the ball 5 seconds into the 24 clock, and there is no chance the ball is going to anyone else. I don’t know if its the offensive sets or the players…I may be using Larry Hughes/the other players as scapegoats for our pathetic offense, but something’s off one way or the other

by GroceryBagaric on Nov 24, 2008 9:23 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

This is getting way ahead of things, but . . .

. . . I’m looking forward to seeing how Rose’s game evolves as he loses some of his quickness and hops. I mean, for the next 10-12 years or so, the Bulls = Rose. At some point in his mid- to late-twenties, Rose is not going to be able to sky and explode like he can now. Same thing happened to “Jordon.” Jordan, however, developed every other facet of his game as his athleticism faded (the fadeaway, the defense, the 3 pointer, the post game). Rose seems like a similar competitor who’s very aware of his strengths and weaknesses. I’m looking forward to seeing the development of his skills.

But I’m also looking forward to him dominating the league with his athleticism for the next five years before we get to that point.

Luol is a hideously bad one-on-one player

Why the hell do they ever run iso sets for him?

I just got in front of the TV

Haven’t watched the whole game. His boxscore #s look awful.

But in general, he’s not a bad player overall, he’s just a pitiful one-on-one offensive player. He might be worth the money, but not in that role.

Deng

Is it controversial to think his is the worst contract on the Bulls? At his best, he had a stellar mid-range game, but he has not consistently hit that shot in a while. Without that, the limitations of his game are glaring: no ball-handling, no post game, can’t create an open shot, limited athleticism and poor defense.

The only hope is that he somehow is still injured his game picks up when his health improves. But it really looks like a terrible signing.

That's what I like to see

Luol cutting to the hoop, Tyrus making a good pass.
