Wizards fire Eddie Jordan
I always thought Eddie did a great job coaching considering the talent given to him in Washington. Paxson won't do it, but hiring Jordan would be a huge upgrade over Vinny.

This is a tough business. I believe Eddie Jordon is an excellent coach. How does that team win without
Arenas and Haywood? They do not have the talent to win. They may have made a horrible mistake signing Arenas to a huge contract. This can undermine them for years to come. This is a tough business.

no talent?
They have Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison healthy- two all stars/near all stars. That’s more than the Bulls have had for years. They should be able to win more than just 1 game.

There really isn't much on that roster beyond Arenas, Cutler, and Jamison
Jordan did an excellent enough job without Arenas last year to warrant more time to adjust this season

I agree
I thought getting into the postseason last year was near impossible, but they still did it.
In a trust with Vinny Del Negro.

this is a surprise
He worked with what he had. They just picked up his option prior to the season.

So do we buy out VDN and bring Jordon on to coach the Bulls?
Just kidding … sort of.

Maybe we can hire him as a head-coach-in-waiting,
a la Bickerstaff/Harris.
And actually, hasn’t he worked with Bickerstaff before anyway?
Let’s face it: a lot of the vocal citizens of this blog won’t be happy while Vinnie plays the sub-par guys on this roster (Hughes and Gray), but if Vinnie’s doing that to appease management, then will Jordan or anyone else do things differently? If so, we’ll hate on them as well…

I think after the disaster of the [name redacted] tenure
(and Sam reported this): Paxson is very hands-off in terms of lineups and playing time. Almost (surely?) to a fault.

But wait--after [unmentionable]'s tenure,
shouldn’t Pax have become more hands-on regarding line-ups and playing time?

Some guy called up a radio program the morning. The sports junkies and said that
John Thompson is in line to be the next coach but he said it was a player or coach was his source but heavy lean toward player. He said by Wednesday they will announce., if not by wed. then we know it was a bogus tip.

I have a feeling that John Thompson is the Ditka
of the D.C. sports landscape

Yeah, that's probably about right

Meh, there was no other option
He will get a job in a year or two, he’s not a bad coach and considering the franchise player has been hurt for seemingly forever, he’s done as well as possible. They have good young talent, but Blatche, Young haven’t been producing as well this year. Plus, given the comments from Jamison over the past weeks it seems like the players don’t really care about winning.

Jordan's recent comments weren't too inspiring either
he seemed to be at the end of his rope with that team. When that happens, there’s little to do but give him his wish and fire him.
Maybe they’ll hire my guy Flip Saunders.

Kinda like Skiles last year
When the coach can’t get anything more out of his young guys and the vets can’t carry the load, it’s time for a change. I doubt a new coach can fix what ails Washington, unless Arenas is fully healthy they will always be in mediocrity limbo.
