New Banner Over-Under

For months I've been logging on to Blog a Bull to be greeted with the "Derrick Rose Derrick Rose Derrick Rose" banner. It was a tongue in cheeck reference to the breathless optimism and heavy posting that accompanied landing Derrick Rose - everyone's safe bet to take on Micheal Jordan's heavy, yet dusty, mantle. The banner remained as summer turned to fall and the leaves changed. Summer league turned to two-a-days to preaseason to regular season and the banner remained.

Star-divide

Until today.

Today's new banner suggests that the honeymoon is over. Derrick Rose was, by himself, enough to carry the Blog a Bull community for several months there. But now, the hard reality is starting to set in and we remember what its like to watch a really terrible team night in and night out. The lineup changes, stalled offense, missed defensive assignments and Mopey Iowan.

So if the banner headlines suggest a sea change in the collective psyche of Bulls fans, I've got a couple optimistic banner predictions for the season.

January - "Get your Lindsey Hunter All-Star Votes in now!"

February - "Aaron Grey - Your New Dunk Contest Champion"

March - "The NBA, Where 12-Game Win Streaks Happen"

April - "Congrats to Vinny D! One of People's 50 Most Beautiful People"

May - "Documenting a Bulls Playoff Run"

Maybe I'm being a bit too optimistic. Add your thoughts on possible Blog a Bull banners?

I don't think it'll be a terrible team night-in, night-out

they’ll be up and down at least.

But I’m way down on Vinny. It’s such an easy judgement call to not start Larry Hughes, especially at SF. Considering we’re already giving him slack for other rookie coaching…things, you’d hope he’d at least know that Hughes is awful, and actively awful at that.

I hear ya

In these trying times, I just like to lighten the mood. I really hope Vinny picks it up, but, like you, I’m starting to worry.

start with "The Bulls..."

where we can run another coach out of town and not make our players take the blame for their lack of effort.

hey, 10 years ago this season we won a championship.

thank God we got one right (Derrick Rose).

want to help your team’s winning streak

where offensive ineptitude, glaring holes at the 4-5 spots, and a mentality that we cannot under any circumstances trade any of our crap players persists even after our players continue to disappoint, and after the holes at the 4-5 spots continue to show.

where players instantly become better after they leave our organization.

where player development never occurs. You come in as a rookie and you kep playing your college style game until you leave.

That’s enough for now. I’m so mad at this team.

Derrick Rose Derrick Rose Larry Hughes…wait what? Dammit Larry get the ball back to Derri…..fuck.

Asked what kind of player he expects to be in the next five years, he said: "Not a star, but like, a superstar. Something around, like, Chris Paul, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, something like that."

The Bulls

where more people in this organization need to be shot than spared.

For your information, we(I)’ve got a hit list.
1. Larry Hughes
2. Aaron Gray
3. Lindsay Hunter
4. Thabo Sefolosha
5. Cedric Simmons
6. Michael Ruffin
7. Demetris Nichols
8. John Paxson
9. John Reinsdorf
10. Vinny Del Negro

That leaves us with:

PG: Rose starting Hinrich backing up
SG: Gordon starting Hinrich backing up
SF: Deng starting Noce backing up
PF: Tyrus starting Noce backing up
C: Noah starting Gooden backing up

Head Coach: Del Harris
Head Assistant Coach: Bernie Bickerstaff
GM: Someone who isn’t afraid to make a trade
Owner: Someone who leaves it to the GM and will pay the luxury tax

Pass a hat around to hire an assasin.

Get the rock to Rose!!

I'm serious

I’m that pissed off at this team.

My hit list: Larry, Thabo, Lindsay, Demetris, Cedric, Aaron, Paxson, Reinsdorf, Del Negro, and Schanwald. We're left with Rose, Gordon, Hinrich, Deng, Noce, Gooden, Tyrus, Noah, Harris, and Bickerstaff. Harris takes coach and Bickerstaff takes GM. Who needs an owner? Pay for it with the money that the Blog A Bull community will spend on tickets to see a good team!
Correction: Matt takes GM, and Bickerstaff stays Head Assistant Coach.

At least im not the only one pissed off

the Lakers manage to maintain a top-notch organizatin year after year and we have to settle for mediocrity despite being a desirable place to play with a great history.

about a hit list?

Gray, Hunter, Ruffin and Nichols

can be forgiven since they are minimum salary players (or gone in the case of Nichols) and were signed as free agents or 2nd round picks.

If Hughes had dignity, he would agree to a buyout and donate the money to charity.

While we are on the subject of DERRICK ROSE

can we change the number on the basketball behind the blogging bull to 1 instead of 23? Yeah, MJ will always be the team’s greatest player, but he has been gone 10 years and was last seen limping around in a Washington Whiz uniform.

by Granny Waiters on Nov 20, 2008 8:58 PM CST reply actions

no

but i wouldn’t be mad if the picture of the Bull was changed…it’s always looked a little strange to me, don’t really know why though

by NormVanBeer on Nov 20, 2008 9:29 PM CST up reply actions

I never liked the 23

since I’m not big into reliving the Dynasty Days in the first place. I do not have photoshop skillz

If you want,

I’ll do it for you.
In a week [or two], as … I have a lot going on, but still.

I also would be happy to help out.

Check out my website to see my work. www.MohawkDesigns.com. I’ll do it for free because I love you so much Matt… I mean I love BAB.

go nuts

if it’s free for me, I don’t mind. It’s been 3 years with the same logo.

But I do like the idea of a Bull actually blogging, so no real big changes….just get rid of the Mac logo and the ‘23’ and other background stuff, see what you can do with it.

(that’s open to anyone. Maybe I’ll make it a contest)
