That's what I'm saying...

Radmanovich looks huge out there. There was a court angle on one of the links earlier and it was like driving against a wall. You don’t get that view from the 300 level. It’s nuts.

The guy takes some of the dumbest shots. Hopefully we let him go and draft Stephen Curry to take his place.

by illini23 on Nov 18, 2008 10:05 PM CST reply actions

Steph Curry

Is legit. One of the better shooter i’ve seen. He is also a damn good defensive player unlike BG. Less $$ also..

And BG

is really good anyways.
I mean, if we drafted Stephen Curry I’d be ecstatic, but that doesn’t mean we drop BG for the hope of drafting Curry.

Couldn't disagree more

He took ONE really bad shot, otherwise he was getting great looks. I’ll take those other shots every possession.

by StevenKerr on Nov 18, 2008 10:59 PM CST up reply actions

I'm interested in seeing what the forecasting models have to say about him

Players with limited skill sets (i.e. lack of diversity, identified through statistical manipulation) typically have no chance in the NBA, such as J.J. Redick, who the forecasting models successfully compared to Trajan Langdon, Shawn Respert, et al, and realized he’d be a bust.

I’m not saying that Curry will be a bust, just saying a college player needs to do a LOT more than shoot and score to translate his game to the NBA. Even guys like Paxson and Kerr who were one-dimensional players in the NBA, I guarantee if you look up their college stats you’ll be surprised at the depth of their games.

They pretty much called Luol Deng garbage. Payton said he doesn’t expect Deng to show up THIS YEAR and Webber said the key to the game is consistency…and that Deng has been getting consistently worse.

Payton said that Deng has gotta bring it now that the Bulls have paid him all this money. He said that as players get to know your game, you gotta bring something different to the table and Deng hasn’t done that.

It is simply amazing when you contrast athletic ability...

…between a guy like Derrick Rose and a guy like Luol Deng. Rose has that same explosive ability that guys like LeBron and D-Wade have. He comes at you like a bullet and explodes. Deng seems so unathletic. He obviously has a decent degree of athleticism, but when you put him next to Rose or any number of other wing players he looks so….average. I think that’s what ultimately frustrates me about Deng. I just have to come to grips with him not being so athletic. But I do want him to improve other facets of his game in order to make up for it though.
