Circus Poll.
In addition to the Precircus post- here is a poll. I'm interested in seeing everyone's opinion.
Overall, the past 6 Circus trips have been very difficult for the Bulls. Reasons being: the Bulls do not play well on the road, and the West is very strong. Just for a frame of reference, here is a record history of the Bulls' west coast Circus trip:
2003: 0-6
2004: 0-5
2005: 1-6
2006: 3-3
2007: 1-6
2008: 1-5

As I see it
The Lakers, Nuggets, Jazz and Spurs are certain Ls. Between the Blazers, Warriors and 76ers, I would guess 1-2.
any given night
the only sure loss, I see, is the game against the lakers. I’m not stating that because of their record, but rather the greatness and size of their big men, which we cannot match.

were beating the lakers
we just gotta

The Spurs are not very good early this season.
And will be playing without Parker and Ginobilli…there is nothing certain playing them…I also would not consider Denver a certain defeat as they are not that good of a team…I think Utah is the matchup you overlooked

I like our team this year
We’re young, athletic, far from great, but hardly a pushover. I think we might surprise and go 4-3….our guards are a tough matchup for any team (with all the depth there and at SF). I know our post is awful, but the way our guards are playing, we can get hot and pull off one real upset against the Lakers-Spurs-Jazz and I think we should beat the Warriors (though that’ll be the most fun game of the bunch to watch), and I think we stand a good chance against the slowed down for now Spurs, and should pull off one against either teh 76ers or the Nuggets…
It should be a fun trip.
we still always manage to beat the lakers
word to the OAK man. Damn I hate the Lakers

because
because 2003 is one year before the year the player with the longest current Bulls career started with the Bulls. well, he signed with them in 2003, after the 2003 draft.
that was my reason. (which doesn’t make it a good reason.)
and, wow, 6-52 is pretty bad.

ahh
that makes some degree of sense though. i was more wondering the logic since it’s not like the bulls won a game on the trip until 2005, so i was wondering why the marker fell there since all the ones post championship until then were 0-whatever.
it is pretty pathetic…
4 and 3...
lakers jazz and nuggets are losses…….lakers and jazz are too good for us….nuggets are really playing good right now…….and the rest are very possible wins for us…spurs are not a certain loss…they havent been playing too good….plus they’re old…we might be able to just plain outrun them….4-3….possibly 5 – 2…if we can steal one from denver…….honestly..i agree with homesick-blues…only sure loss is lakers….two possibles and the rest are up for grabs………wouldn’t be surprised is we end up 6 and 1 on this circus trip.
Or
1-6. We’re just too young and inconsistent on the front line to make any predictions with confidence. So I’m going with 3-4, keeping the team around .500 as Rose matures and the other players learn their roles. When Ben finally figures out that Rose will make the game easy for him, look out. We sneak into the playoffs this year and no one is talking about Beasley anymore.
hear ya
I can see the Bulls ending 1-6 or 2-5. But, Rose really is SOMETHING. He really has transformed this team. With Rose playing great, and the supporting case beint (just) MILDLY GOOD, the Bulls can win any game. Gordon really has something to prove, too.
I think 3-4 would be success, with many things being considered.

Damn...
Between the annual early season circus trip and the ridiculous amount of day games at Wrigley, Chicago sure get’s the middle finger in terms of schedule.

Bulls aren't the only teams that have these road trips
The Spurs have a long road trip because of a rodeo.

Yeah
But isn’t the Spurs road trip more towards mid season? Having a huge road trip this early in the year can really do things to a team’s confidence, especially when the team is still pretty young….
Hopefully though now that Noc-Ben-Luol have been through this a billion times we can learn to play on…..
Plus it helps that this year it doesn’t seemt he West is quite as dominant (sans Lakers) as it was in the past.
double disadvantage
when the Bulls havea ‘6 games in 9 nights road trip’ into the West so early into the season. why else are they historically 6-52?

True, this trip is also a huge test (or at least opportunity) for Rose
He gets to go up against Billups and (probably) Deron Williams, in addition to Andre Miller. 3 of the bigger PGs in the league that have usually had their way with the Bulls. This is a big chance to shine for the frontcourt. I’d love to see them hold their own against LA and Portland’s mega-hyped big men.

The frontcourt could shine ...
at any point.
That would be good. I don’t care if it’s against the Thunder, just give me hope!
They’re not going that.
God
I don’t think we can, but if our Bigs play well and smart (which can happen) it would be awesome if we ran ran ran the Lakers out of the game….
I count that in my loss column tonight, but man that would be exciting if Rose-BG did their thing, Deng played Deng’s game, and Noah had a Noah game and Tyrus played at least a smart T2 game…..
Once
Every 7-8 games he sticks to what he does….he had an 8 and 8 game with very effective defense…..I can’t remember the team but he was more effective than his stat line shows and if he has one of those games, we look very good.
8-8 : can't ask for anything more.
an 8-8 night, every game from Tyrus, is all I can hope for this year. And Tyrus could get there, just by scootin’ around inside- picking up rebounds and dishes from penetrating gordon and rose. now, that would be playing smart.
Tyrus stated a few weeks back that his jumpshot is better this year. We haven’t seen it better, but Tyrus says its better. Maybe, once Tyrus “calms down” a bit, he’ll become somewhat consistent in shooting.

I voted 4-3
The way i see it is 4-3 but it may be 5-2. Things are different now.
The good! The Jazz are trying to get back in a groove, the Spurs are hurting big time, the Warriors arent that good, the 76rs are still trying to figure things out and the Blazers are ripe.
The bad! The Lakers have Kobe, the nuggets have been on a tear with a re-focused Melo and a solid pg in Billups with a solid (i said solid) core of players around them, the blazers play really well at home and Roy, aldridge, Ferny, and that big guy could annialate us.
Wins Warriors, Jazz, Spurs, 76rs and possibly the Blazers
Losses Lakers, Nuggets, Blazers
