there's 14 games on tonight

and none of them on national tv… 2 on nbatv. league pass only has 10 stations… and only 3 of the games start at 9 eastern or later… do the math one of my stations is picking up the game at 9:30 (eastern).

sucks…

That should have been a high percentage shot considering the shooter,

but in a 5 on 3 situation traditionally they should have gone in attack mode and got to the basket for a higher percentage shot. It seems like a lot of our shots so far have not been the best shot possible.

If this team didn’t have Derrick Rose, i’m not so sure we’d win any games. Another question, WHY IN THE HELL ISN’T KIRK PLAYING? HE’S SMOKING HOT FROM THE FIELD!

by kwintz on Nov 1, 2008 8:27 PM CDT reply actions

by Diz on Nov 1, 2008 8:35 PM CDT reply actions

I love how Deng constantly gets outclassed . . .

Whenever he goes up against an elite small forward. Too bad he gets paid like one himself.

This is just a bunch of ill-fitting parts, other than Rose. Other than maybe Thomas and Noah (and even those two are debatable), everyone else on this team is a spare part.

by Big D on Nov 1, 2008 8:36 PM CDT reply actions

He doesn't get paid like an elite small forward.

LeBron james, Carmelo Anthony, Richard Jefferson, Peja, Paul Pierce, Andre Iguodola.Lamar Odom, Andrei Kirilenko, Rashard Lewis, Shawn Marion can be included. Soon, Rudy Gay will pass. Beasley eventually will. Marvin Williams might.

He gets paid the same as Tayshaun Prince, Josh Howard, Danny Granger, and that seems about right based on past performance and expected future returns.

I’m not seeing how that’s “elite” when at least a third of the league is making more.

by tyger1147 on Nov 1, 2008 8:48 PM CDT up reply actions

by wjb1492 on Nov 1, 2008 8:40 PM CDT reply actions

Yeah, since I can't watch the Bulls I watched them (I live in Indy)

And what really bothers me is that the Pacers have a lot of new players and still managed to come out and look coherent. I don’t even care too much that the Bulls lost last night, I expected a loss.

But man, they were completely out of it, and that’s a warning sign to me.

by Sports2 on Nov 1, 2008 8:45 PM CDT up reply actions

What is clear now.

Rose is great. The team is not so great. The year should be used for figuring out who is useful next to Rose. The rest can leave. They are poorly put together and can’t overcome that with the kind of chemistry and hard work that got them where they were two years ago despite the physical things they lacked. And even in that best situation they only one 49 games. Things have caught up with them.

I gotta say it, too:

I’d be a lot more confident if we had Mike D’Antoni than this glorified announcer who seems – to the best of my knowledge – to stare stonily into the distance while Del Harris draws plays, talks to refs, and takes care of that “coaching” thing.

What a joke. No experience. Not as an assistant. Not in college. Not in high school. Not his daughter’s fifth grade team.

Want to know why they’re so disorganized? No mystery there.

The poster formerly known as Freethefro.

by MPG on Nov 1, 2008 8:40 PM CDT reply actions

I wonder if Del Harris is really running things

He seems to be constantly standing up during the game. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen an assistant coach stand up as much as he does. It’s like what van Gundy said last night – why is Del Harris getting technical fouls? VDN is the head coach, he’s the one who should be dealing with the refs.

by Big D on Nov 1, 2008 8:50 PM CDT up reply actions

Tyrus if you keep shooting like this, I'm going to have to borrow your namesake's

sleeping pills. He seems to be totally psyched out, rushing his shots and even missing the rim on layups. Thank God Deng and Gordon have been on fire. That was really impressive when 2 Grizzlies crashed into each other and layed spraweled out at the opposing baseline, and Ben pulled up on a 5 on 3 to take some wild ass shot.

Someone tell me this nightmare will soon end. I’m watching the game feed on Dish Network free on one of the NBA channel 568. If TT was playing this craptastic with the previous coaches (unnamed), Larry Hughes would get playing time before he saw the hardcourt again.
