Does anyone know

Where to quickly and easily get info on what TV channel Bulls games (preseason too) will be on?  I seem to always struggle finding where the games are at, and even Bulls.com doesn't seem to have a place (or I can't find a place) that's updated very quickly.

Matt is this something you'd be able to get on BaB as some sort of permanent link?  Like for instance what channel is the Thurs preseason opener on?

Thx.  And I'm sorry if there is another post/link to this somewhere else on here....i didn't see it.

That is awesome T4Prez

You’ll never believe how often last year I’d try hunting down where a game was (we had directtv then too which has a really crappy guide—dish nowadays is better), but I wouldn’t be able to find the games.

Thanks a ton I appreciate it.

Let’s hope most of these games are W’s this year so we can finally talk tweaks to make a contender, rather than how we hate Nocioni….and Hughes….now that those 2 have targets on their backs since the evil Duhon one is gone.

Now would that be

regular WGN or WGN-America (formerly known as Superstation?) that they have listed there. I only get WGN-America which sometimes plays the games but lately I’ve not seen them distinguish between the two in their listings. Its always fun to turn the game on only to find a Jean-Claude Van Damme movie starting instead.

Everything I post is speculation. I have no insider information nor ideas deemed concrete enough by those who are self-elected to regulate post content.

WGN-America should bump Bulls games

for whatever crap is on the CW that night.

usually only the SaTURDay games...

Only the Saturday games are broadcast on WGN-America. You’ll get a healthy dose of America’s Funniest Videos on ‘GN during the weeknights that the Bulls are scheduled to be on WGN. Further, unless you live in the Chicagoland broadcast area, don’t expect to see any preseason games other than the Saturday, October 18 game vs. Utah (WGN-America). NBA League Pass doesn’t begin until the first day of the regular season.

…Are you sure you weren’t actually watching Bulls games?

I thought the preseason

games are on CSN. Did they put them on CSN+? I don’t get CSN+ where I live. (stabs) I only live 200 miles from Chicago but it might as well be 2,000 sometimes.

There are a couple that

are on CSN+. There are only two games not being televised by CSN or CSN+. Maybe WGN will pick up the other two.

by sue369 on Oct 8, 2008 3:59 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Actually only one game

is on CSN+. One game is on WGN (Oct. 18th). Only this Fri. nights game is not televised.

Gack!

I’ll miss the season opener against the Bucks then. WGN on a weekday. And I really wanted to make fun of their new uniforms…

during the first couple weeks of the season

they often have a free league pass trial, so if your cable carrier has LP you may be able to tune in.

Good thing for

NBALP with all those games on crappy WCIU.

God I forgot

Another year of too much Stacey King…..didn’t Dohr get the axe though? I can’t remember now….
Stacey got old by game 3….

You mentioning the “U” reminded me how nice it was last year for our games to be on TNT, which we had quite a few of them there because we were supposed to be good last year….I don’t think the same will happen this year, even though I do think we have a solid shot of being very good this year…maybe having Rose we’ll get some airtime, but Rose isn’t as sexy nationally yet as Odom or Beasley, so we’ll see.

God I hate our announcers, but I could be wrong, they could be gone….anyone remember?

our "Bulls Team" for CSN:

Red Kerr, King, Gill, and Norm, and Funk(radio)

So no Tom Dore.. Just Kerr and King for the play-by-play on TV. Norm and Gill Pre/Post Game. And good ole Neil Funk on the Radio

B.J. for three.... KABOOM!

by chibullsfan03 on Oct 6, 2008 1:40 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

not exactly

King and Swirsky for all tv broadcasts (CNS, WGN, WCIU).

Kerr, Norm, and Gill for halftime and post-game analysis (though I believe Kerr will be absent from post-game).

Funk & Wennington for all radio broadcasts.

by NormVanBeer on Oct 6, 2008 1:43 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Let's hope

King doesn’t constantly do his “Thabo Sefalosha, Thabo Sefalosha, Thabo Sefalosha” or the "Let’s break down this stupid easy play to see the stupid easy mistake all the fans already saw, in lieu of showing what’s happening on the court right now.

I can take King for a few segments, and maybe without Dohr there Stacey won’t try so hard….but I liked him much more as the post game commentator than his current in the game analysis—where he gets very old and talks sometimes to just talk.

But at least Dohr is gone, Dohr’s been awful since day 1, and that was like 15 years ago….

Stacey can be good when he’s concise and not trying to be a comedian and not trying to overtalk to get his point across. Hopefully having a 2 man staff will avoid some of this…..otherwise it’ll be a long “Thabo Sefalosha” season….god that was irritating.

Perhaps

we should all give them a pass for last years work. You have to admit, commentating about the crap the Bulls were dishing out got old for everyone. I think it was taking years off of Kerr’s life. There was a point where there just wasn’t much to be said. I was even muttering to myself and munching candy during the last few months. King was at least trying to be positive in his “Thabo Sefaloshhhhhaaaaaaa” way. It made no sense, it was repetitive, it was poor commentating, but if the alternative was pointing out how much we sucked (as we did suck) or eating massive amounts of candy then maybe it was their way of dealing with it.

He's wrong !

It’s Thabo Sefolosha !

The Game chose him !

When you say
I think it was taking years off of Kerr’s life

I gotta wonder if the job actually killed Kerr at the beginning of the season, and was taking off years that Kerr had actually already lived through. Yes, the Bulls were that bad last season, that Kerr may have been the undead. (We love ya, Red!)

Zombie Kerr?

I guess there is always that possibility. So when we thought we were hearing him eat candy off camera it was actually human brains? Eh, I could go with that I guess.

Wait, is this right?

I thought Funk was the new play-by-play face/voice for TV. King as the color commentator for TV.

Swirsky is radio play-by -play with Wennington as the color.

you're right...i stand corrected

Broadcasters: Chuck Swirsky, Bill Wennington, Steve Kashul

TV: WGN-TV (Channel 9), WCIU-TV (Channel 26)
Broadcasters: Neil Funk, Stacey King, Johnny “Red” Kerr (home games only)

Cable TV: Comcast SportsNet Chicago

Though that seems to be different from what was originally announced earlier in the summer.

by NormVanBeer on Oct 6, 2008 3:58 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

yep
Meanwhile, TV announcer Johnny Kerr, who has been with the team as a coach and analyst for 36 years, will be the host for the Bulls’ pregame and halftime shows for home games and also will “serve as the team’s official ambassador”

I wonder if he

will be the face of the new team candy bar line too?

also, sometimes they change it up midseason

if we do better than expected, we may get on a few more nationally televised games than what’s announced right now.

that’s what happened a few years ago, when we were added to a few late season games (most notably a very close game vs cleveland that we won) – but then someone gets dropped. last season we were the ones who were dropped a couple times down the stretch.

by Jaina on Oct 6, 2008 1:41 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yeah

I remember a late season 2004-2005 game between the Bulls and Sonics (two then younger teams that were doing very well) and that was one of my top 5 Bulls games of the past 5 years…..I think aided by the fact it was either on ESPN or TNT. I remember both teams played hard adn Tyson and I think Eddy even had solid games. We might have lost by a last second Ray Allen shot. That was a great game….I wouldn’t mind watching it again.

NBA is flirting with on demand over the Internet

Turner Networks now hosts all the tech for NBATV. There’s a push to put the entire NBA library online through an on demand over the Internet solution. This could include live broadcasts, but that’s unlikely to start until the existingleague TV contract is renegotiated.

Turner taking control of NBATV operations should be the final push necessary to take the library online.

well, it's better than nothing

It’s the inconvenient of being a european bulls fan

I just hope they go to London next year. I will try to go there…
